We use ScienceLogic SL1 to identify IT Infrastructure related problems in time and resolve them quickly before they affect IT Infra Service Availability and Performance.
Pros
Large coverage of IT Infra related products and services monitoring
Basic IT Infra Level Monitoring
Metrics and Events Monitoring
Cons
Dashboards are quite old and are of Iron age. Need to have AP2 dashboards only instead of AP1 and consistent new design across all functionalities.
Reporting is not improved since Y2020 and need to revamp completely. Need to integrate Dashboards and Reporting. PowerBI Like functionality to be given OOTB. Reports should be extracted in Excel, PDF, HTML and should be heavily automated.
Create and Open APIs for basic and advanced monitoring data extraction.
Topology based Event Correlation and Suppression should be improved drastically. Need to identify critical network interfaces based on Topology and monitor them. Basic customization of Dynamic App and/or Powerpack to exclude/include certain metrics/events to be permitted OOTB instead of customizations.
Integration with ServiceNow to be improved and to be taken to next level. Automation Powerpack should be made available OOTB as part of base product and to be priced attractively.
Take product to next level where we can monitor actual impacted IT or Business Service instead of metrics and events BSM and Topology map to be auto discovered and identify the network dependencies and alternate paths automatically instead of manual creation of BSM.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is appropriate for basic IT Infra level metrics and event monitoring for small and medium business. Not suitable for large scale IT Infra level monitoring of underlying critical services.

We use ScienceLogic SL1 to monitor our hybrid cloud infrastructure and network.
Pros
Infrastructure Monitoring
Event Management
Cons
UI - a lot of the UI feels old and clunky
Reports are quite hard to get right and don't look the best.
Likelihood to Recommend
ScienceLogic SL1 is great for enterprise organisations looking to see all their infrastructure monitoring in one place. The more modern UI in the event management application looks good but unfortunately any detailed monitoring uses the old UI, which is clunky and needs a refresh.

We are a managed service provider with responsibilities to monitor and remediate issues on client environments. Man-hours and scaling support per engineer is always a big issue, faster RCA and remediation or automated tasks helps to reduce effort to resolution. Scope is a large number of customers through a single monitoring platform, mostly infrastructure, OS and platform support.
Pros
Gathers massive amounts of metrics which can be useful when troubleshooting
Very customizable and open to modification and low-code additions
Support of the product be experts is extremely efficient and professional
Cons
Merge the nextui and classic to finally get everything in one, understandable that this happens over time but sometimes tricky to educate users to the subtle differences
Simpler integrations for the on-prem platform
Adding persistent device templates would be a welcome addition
When it comes to Virtual servers it sometimes becomes necessary to merge a virtual machine and an OS device that are in separate collector groups, this is a problem as DA's cannot be linked to a specific CUG
Likelihood to Recommend
Any environment where end to end infrastructure monitoring is required, the ability to discover and map out every component is very powerful and critical in speedy RCA determination
We use ScienceLogic SL1 tool so much, for monitoring, for maintenance, for collector verification, it just stands out everytime. Compared to any other tool this tool stands out every where. My client's servers feel safe and his satisfaction related to his servers' monitoring just gets accurate every time. I would love to recommend this tool to anyone inside or outside my organisation and I am sure they will definitely love it.
Pros
Monitoring
Alerting
Maintenance
Likelihood to Recommend
While commissioning servers, clusters or containers it just stands so well in handling monitoring that, anyone who will use it will definitely love it. Once one of my client's server got stuck due to some file system size overloading, and we are so keen to finding the way out, we straightforwardly went to ScienceLogic SL1 tool and found the exact reason and resolved that issue in no time.
We were primarily using ScienceLogic SL1 for monitoring and suppressing alerts during maintenance times of our servers enterprise wise. Throu the training we found out there are far more capabilities, unfortunately the contract was cancelled just after a year mainly because of the poor support we received when trying to tweak it to suit our environment, especially our DMZ environment.
Pros
Monitoring and adjusting alerts and their thresholds.
It is also a very good all in one administrative console.
Processing and normalizing collected data.
A dedicated Database Server provides all database functions.
Cons
Monitoring and management in DMZ environments.
A mobile app could also assist for some functionality as we need visibility 24/7
Support from ScienceLogic SL1 team was nott too impressive, after initial setup we were almost on our own.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is very good for monitoring alerts ans tweaking the alerts for doifferent devices is so much simplified from the console. Adding devices to the collections is also pretty simple after receiving the correct training around it. A collector group can be configured such that if an individual collector fails, other members of the group will pick up and share the load.
Our organization used to use over 50 tools which have been cut down due to the implementation of ScienceLogic SL1. Computacenter as an organisation has utilized and customized ScienceLogic SL1 as per our customer needs in order to serve them better, We have used the various dashboards and utilized ScienceLogic SL1 well. We plan on using Zebrium and more no code/low code tools in order to make our workflow more efficient.
Pros
Highlights alerts
Custom dashboards
Various customisation options
Cons
UI could be a bit better
Advance level of training in regards to Power BI
More training modules to use the low code/No code tools
Likelihood to Recommend
I have used ScienceLogic SL1 in various scenarios, ranging from monitoring to getting reports, I have also used it in scenarios when the dashboard had come in use to see a glance and understand the incidents happening and which ones require attention. ScienceLogic SL1 sometimes does not connect with legacy system with ITSM very well, when the alerts are cleared in ScienceLogic SL1, they still remain in BMC Remedy which is an ITSM tool.
We use ScienceLogic SL1 to monitor our global infrastructure and maintain our SLA's. Every support personnel has it and it helps us to proactively manage and see the health of our entire plant.
In addition, we have high level status dashboard for management. Creating dashboards is easy and ScienceLogic SL1 is well suited for our event based systems monitoring.
Pros
Connectivity with external systems for monitoring is robust
Dashboards are very professional and of high quality
Disk and server space monitoring works great
Licensing is easy
Cons
Need advanced database monitoring and customizations
Customer support and training needs to be improved
Application logic specific monitoring is limited.
Automated email/reports to management don't work that well
Likelihood to Recommend
ScienceLogic SL1 is well suited for basic infra monitoring like disk space, cpu usage, log alerts etc. Its great for monitoring network related components and across different devices - windows based & linux. ScienceLogic SL1 reporting feature needs improvement. Documentation can also be improved. It's also not suited for datacenter migration projects or where they are frequent component changes

ScienceLogic SL1 one is pretty good, we are able to monitor our services. One thing is that availability report is a pain point to us. We need to take track of availablity report manually.
Pros
For us url monitoring it's working well and we are able to solve issue before incident came.
Alerting mechanism is good
Cons
ScienceLogic SL1 has to take apportunity from people those are customising the power packs and synck packs, that ScienceLogic SL1 have to adopt in there own product so that will help other to solve similar kond of problems.
If some teams are spending there time on customising the product so ScienceLogic SL1 may can buy there customisation and implement in ScienceLogic SL1 product itself
Likelihood to Recommend
As it is customisable, any one can use it according to there requirements

Offers real time tracking data and simplified UI parts.
Offers AIML for identifying unusual situations.
Cons
Pricey modules and difficult literature to understand.
AIOps theory causes false results and false alarms.
User experience and customer service team response takes time.
Likelihood to Recommend
