Pros
Integrations with Different Software: Many users have found the integrations with software like Trello, Slack, and Jira to be a great help and time-saving feature. These integrations allow for seamless collaboration between different tools, saving users valuable time in their workflows.
Easy Test Run Setup: Several reviewers mentioned that running test runs on Hiptest is simple and easy to begin with. They appreciate the intuitive interface that allows them to quickly set up and execute test runs, enabling efficient testing processes.
Convenient Test Case Download: Users appreciate the option to download tests from the studio in different formats like Ruby, Java, and TestNG. This feature makes it convenient for offline access and allows users to work with their preferred programming languages when developing automated tests. With this flexibility, they can easily integrate their tests into existing frameworks or use them as standalone scripts.
HipTest is being used in my company mainly for running automated regressions for scenarios with different levels of priority in our test environments, but also we use this tool to track the progress of the testing of the stories during every sprint (we work with SCRUM methodology). We have this tool linked to Jira so in this way we can see in Jira the progress of the testing in HipTest for each ticket but in HipTest we can see a general overview of the progress of all tickets included as part of the "test run" ("test run" is the term used in Hiptest to make reference to a set of tests).
Pros
Good integration with Jira
Includes integration with different tools for different porpuses
You can build your own framework to automate scenarios and make it work with Hiptest
Cons
UX is not too obvious and easy (like generating a data table in a scenario or including a scenario in a test run) but you can get used to it relatively easy by playing around with the options, also the documentation is helpful.
To get extra functionalities you have to pay for them separately.
Likelihood to Recommend
HipTest is good and helpful to create and run functional regressions but it is more complicated to use this tool to create and run API testing scenarios (it does not mean it can not be done). This tool is definitively not appropriate for running performance testing scenarios.
