Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Splashtop across our entire organization with varying purposes. Splashtop allows remote access flexibility for the entire staff, even though in-office is required most of the time. Splashtop offers a nearly 100% productivity level in emergency situations, should the office be closed from inclement weather or something similar. We have already used it to this effect, and it's highly efficient and effective. Before Splashtop, we used a competitor's remote access tool that has been around a very long time, and the performance and reliability of Splashtop vs. that old product was literally shocking for our tech committee during the proposal to switch to Splashtop.

Additionally, IT utilizes Splashtop for efficient virtual server access, software/policy deployments, and emergency SOS access for out-of-office users, both on desktop devices and mobile devices.

Our adoption of Splashtop has been game-changing for our organization. The ability to have reliable remote access, coupled with the more advanced Enterprise tools, has probably increased efficiency so much that it's had a direct impact on business revenue.

Pros

Unbelievable performance! It's so fast I tested a PC game through it just for fun, and it was incredible!
The increase in productivity throughout our organization has been notable. The flexibility of employees to occasionally work remotely, when needed, has been hugely beneficial.
Enterprise IT tools like One-to-Many actions has saved us a lot of time and headache in certain situations, such as deploying a basic MSI or script. SOS has been a saving grace for some employees to receive remote IT support in emergency situations, as well.

Cons

I would like to see an integration with a wider variety of antivirus XDRs. We spend a lot of money on Sophos, which is arguably the most effective product on the market. It would be nice if Splashtop and Sophos Central could work together to increase some efficiency and security.
It would be really great if PCs or devices could be excluded from the antivirus monitoring of Splashtop. For example, some employees use the Splashtop Streamer on home PCs (not owned by the company), so they can remote to their home machines while at the office. Occasionally, Splashtop will report threats to a home user PC that are false or breach personal privacy. Then, those get logged with the device forever. The ability to have IT Admins command Splashtop to ignore device security would be very welcomed.

Likelihood to Recommend

Splashtop is, without a doubt, the most efficient and effective remote software tool on the market. It's suited for any size of business, and I've already recommended it to my dental office, who has purchased 2-3 licenses since they have multiple locations.

Splashtop is especially well suited for medium/large businesses that have on-site IT staff that can manage the account and utilize all the Enterprise tools. The amount that Splashtop has helped our IT department is almost insurmountable to describe.

We utilize Splashtop in several ways. Our servers are accessible to the tech department for remote support, allowing us to update and troubleshoot servers at any time. We have a user who needs to access their work computer from anywhere. This is very helpful since they need to be able to access their work at any time. It's a great program.

Pros

Splashtop connects without any lags on the remote user. end.
Splashtop gives options for signing into the remote device. It can be set up with a password or even without one.
The program sends me alerts for when a device is offline and when it comes back online. It's excellent at monitoring the online status of devices it's installed on.
The administrative part allows you to create users and assign them to devices. Therefore, they only access what they need.

Cons

It would be great to send alerts for administrators when someone logs into the program and accesses a device.
Give reasons why a device was rebooted.
Provide security software with the program.

Likelihood to Recommend

The program is excellent for troubleshooting remote users. It's been great being able to update servers from anywhere.

Pros

Great display on remote sessions.
The ability to open a chat window prior to remote onto device.
Quick and easy file transfer to device off the domain.

Cons

For our use case, the concerns we have had in the past have been addressed with feature updates.

We have had temporary employees who did not have the licensing to access our internal network via VPN. Splashtop solved this by granting them remote access to their device.

Splashtop gives us reliable and easy access to remote into any machine we have multiple sites without having to mess with building VPNs and being able to see what the user is doing so we can show them how to fix the issue or how we fix the problem it’s ability to transfer files is also extremely helpful. I find it much less complicated and way better for the price than most of the competitors, and I have tried most of them. working in a company that does not like to spend money on IT splash top has been one of the biggest saving graces we’ve had I cannot recommend it enough.

Pros

Remote support for users at all sires.
The ability to transfer files without interrupting the users.
The ability to provide remote support without needing a VPN is especially useful for those working from home.

Cons

Adding a remote powershell.
Multiple monitor display.
File transfer between to different splashtop connected machines.

It’s great for all those support needs and remote updating software, things like that. I have not found any particular place where it would not be suitable to use it a lot of the time. We use it even within the same site, to save us from having to run out of the office and around the building, all the time.

Splashtop is used by my department but in several capacities. It allows me to work remotely when an urgent need arises, but i have also worked an entire day remotely. I use it several times a week at a minumum from my smartphone, tablet and/or computer. I initially purchased it for use during COVID but found it to be very valuable so I have continued using it.

The cost is very reasonable

Cons

I would like an easier way of switching between two monitors, or an option to utilize only one monitor if I am on a system with one screen. Maybe this is possible already and I dont know!

Well suited for most remote work, especially from a computer. However, the mobile version works amazingly well. While it is more difficult to use on a smartphone, that is a limitation on the device. It really is impressive at how well the app works.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for remote management for all of our systems needing to be monitored with unattended access. We have Splashtop integrated with Datto. We have moved from TeamViewer to Splashtop and have no regrets from the switch. We utilize it with Android and Apple remote access version and operation systems.

Pros

Performance is good able to stream many things at once.
Android remote access works pretty well and the view only apple version is pretty good too .
Up time is good and they have been adding a lot of features recently.

Cons

Improvement to included AR with the license.
Improve performance with tools like photoshop and AutoCAD.
Time it takes to reconnect to a workstation after disconnecting.

They recently added support for virtual monitors in the remote session. SOS unlimited is the best deal they have. A lot of RMMs include the most basic version of Splashtop. They keep on improving the product on the years which is good. It is also included with some Syncro Subscriptions.

I am an owner-operator of a small radio station in Bracebridge, Ontario. I live 4 hours away from the station and work remotely on a daily basis. Splashtop is essential to the success of the station and allows me to fix any issues immediately. There is no latency, and working with it is easy. It allows file transfers and downloads easily. Great product and highly recommended.

Pros

Ease of use for even those with a non tech background.
Takes up little space, and most of all very little memory.
Quick response on resolving any issues (we can't be down).

Cons

Ease of file transfers. It sometimes does not work for me.
Ability to customise features.

Likelihood to Recommend

My remote work often involves being in a remote session for at least an hour. It is excellent for these long sessions as it rarely disconnects while using the app. Other similar programs are expensive and often offer way more options than I need. This is a simple and easy to use app. I can also use it while out of the office and on the road.
