I use it to collaborate with people working in different offices, to brainstorm, create task lists, flow charts and help everyone understand what is going on and what is being planned. Colleagues working remotely and not in the office mean that we need something to bring everyone together and provide a team environment.
Pros
Creating flow chats
Getting everyone together
Allowing the sharing of ideas
Cons
Sometimes difficult to find items on the board if they're not in the centre
Zooming in and out can often mean things get overlooked
Occasionally uploaded documents vanish
Likelihood to Recommend
It's very good for brainstorming and getting people to use their initiative and imagination especially when colleagues aren't based in the office. It works better than a traditional face to face whiteboard as people can scribble down their ideas without feeling pressured by others or fight their way to the post-it pad and pens.
I personally use Stormboard to coordinate workshops and classes that we offer at the institution. The software makes it easy because we can all collaborate at the same time. We also use it during the classes to make them more interactive and collaborative. I train professors about how to include Stormboard in their classes and students usually like it.
Pros
Makes classes interactive
Allows for collaboration
It is easy to use and get people onboard
Cons
The templates are a bit simple and could be more fun and attractive
Other softwares feel more modern
We get some lag if too many of us are on the board at the same time
Likelihood to Recommend
I use different tech tools and platforms for my classes and those that I coordinate. I find Stormboard particularly useful for those courses where prof. are not tech-savvy or I know the audience won't be. This soft is great for scenarios when I need something easy to use and quick to learn. It makes classes interactive and more participatory.
We use it for the retros of our scrum meetings. It helps us to collect feedback from participants and group them very easily into themes. By doing this we enhance our productivity because the retros are essential for our productivity. We also may introduce it in our daily-stand ups to assess how each team member is progressing in time and what the blockers are.
Pros
Be used during the retros
Instrumental for brainstorms, which cannot be done online otherwise
Bilateral meetings
Daily stand-ups in which progress can be reported simultaneously by each team member and blockers can be identified
Cons
A better integration with other types of communication apps
Make animation possible so we can see how the board has evolved so far
Make recording more easy and possible
Likelihood to Recommend
It's well suited for the retros, where you can collect feedback from different team members. After doing so it is also easy to map these items into groups and make a report out of them. The same set-up can be used again in follow-up meetings as well. So we repeat the usage.
During the increasing remote work, we were faced with the challenges of inefficient online collaboration. We tried several tools to evaluate which tool should be the tool of our choice. One of the tools tested was Stormboard. Stormboard was attractive because the pricing was very competitive. The tool was tested during online workshops, online work, and documentation of user research results. Stormboard shows a lot of good and reliable functionalities that are state of the art among online collaboration tools. The Positive was that Stormboard also offers some functionalities that are not so common among popular competitors, eg. Tasks generation from elements, and report generation. However, there are also some features we missed or saw better implemented in other tools.
Pros
Task generation from elements
Report generation for subsequent processing of collaboration results
Sign up flow
Invite Users and various ways to share access
Cons
Stormboard could update the UI to a more modern and up to date style
The section structure is not intuitive and is constraining in many situations
Standard/Must-have features (add an element to the board) are implemented in a non-intuitive way. Stormboard should consider splitting up the "add button" into several buttons. Several clicks are required to add a simple sticky note.
The board size could be bigger. The size is constraining in many situations.
Likelihood to Recommend
As said, I used Stormboard in close comparison with other tools to find a suitable tool for online collaboration and documentation of workshop results during increasing remote work times. I think Stormboard is totally suitable for this use case. However, I have to say that it was not as strong as expected in comparison to other tools on the market. Thus, I would say that Stormboard is a good choice if the tool is not required daily. For daily use, the tool is not flexible and intuitive enough. For use for some workshops every now and then it fulfills the needs and is probably the right choice because it offers decent pricing. The pricing was an advantage compared to the market leaders.
Stormboard is a practical digital collaboration application for our team and many teams in the organization. We as a team utilize Stormboard whiteboard during our initial stage of a project to have a design solution. Being a team of developers, BAs, and Product owners, Stormboard is very useful for troubleshooting and overseeing any kind of issue that we can get during the project tenure.
Pros
Since it is digital, Its very easy to collaborate with the team in the pan world.
There are many features like voting, follow-up tasks, Adding images, files, documents, drawings, etc which make it easy to be used anytime and reach a decision.
It is multi-lingual so helps in all languages the project needs.
Cons
There are many integration that are still yet to happen in Stormboard
More options and tools
As it is digital, it can be slow sometimes
Likelihood to Recommend
Ready to use template makes Stormboard very easy to use and gives a seamless experience to the user. It is very useful when brainstorming ideas, and solutions for a particular use case. It sometimes gives solutions to the problems we might not have thought about yet. The on-the-go whiteboard gives us a blank slate for new ideas and more collaborations.
I use Stormboard as a tool to help organize ideas in the innovation projects
conducted by my team. It is a support tool used in brainstorming
sections made with different teams of the company. It helps us to unify
all the information collected and create diagrams of the workflows used
by each area of the company. With this information in hand, we start the
open innovation process, where we look for disruptive solutions
available in the market that can help to improve the mapped workflows.
Pros
Helping in the collaboration between people working remotely.
Acting as a support tool for brainstorming sections
Creation of shareable templates.
Cons
The layout could be more modern.
Design is not as responsible as in other popular collaboration platforms.
It could be easier to create new teams in a automated way.
It is hard to manage all the teams that you are part of (especially if you are in a lot of them)
Likelihood to Recommend
Stormboard is a good platform if you want to conduct collaborative
sections with remote workers or even with people sitting next to you. It
is also really good to create templates that you want to share with
other teams. Stormboard also works fine for project management, acting as a good tool to summarize all the information related to that project.
Stormboard is an awesome way to brainstorm new projects and put together a collaboration team to finish on time and within budget. Before using Stormboard, we were filing manually with paper and folders which were not productive by any means. Now we are able to quickly work together with the same vision.
Pros
Sticky Notes
Easy to navigate and resize boards.
Sending invites for a project team is easy.
Cons
Saves us time and productivity.
Saves money by being more productive on a central platform.
The use of sticky notes makes it easy to share quick ideas with the rest of the team.
Likelihood to Recommend
Stormboard is well suited as a digital whiteboard. We use it to collaborate, brainstorm and create new ideas and most importantly put them into motion. We are able to see that ideas are carried out in the easiest and most productive way and project teams are easily able to achieve the end goal together.
We use Stormboard to program, manage and document all of our meetings and reunions that we have, either in person or on line. The ability to separate key partnerships, key activities and their relationships gives us the ability to quickly review and redesign all of our deliverables that come out of our meetings, with suppliers and with our employees. Also, having our cost structure, material or people, visible at all times helps us to keep our expenses in line.
Pros
Manage Key Assets for Each Meeting
Visually present the stakeholders and requirements
Embed multimedia in all sections
Present a clear layout of the meeting
Inform everyone involved of their responsibilities
Great interfase and easy to export
Quickly make changes to the structure of the meeting
The mobile app is easy to use
Cons
The mobile app is easy to use, but very limited and without all the features of the web app
No integration with SalesForce or ZenDesk
The templates are great but if you need anything more complicated you need to pay for it
The search option sometimes does not show all the meetings that I know we have in the system
Using the web app on Chrome, sometimes the navigation gets complicated due to the fact that the toolbar uses a portion of the screen
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need to have control over your meetings and get everyone on board with their requirements and responsibilities, and track how far along everyone is, Stormboard will help you a lot. The problem with not having integration with SalesForce and ZenDesk is that you need to add all the information for each supplier or client, instead of having the system pull it from the other systems we use. Other than that, and the fact that the mobile app is limited, this is the best option for meeting management and follow up.
