Experience with TIBCO BPM Enterprise
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We have implemented TIBCO BPM Enterprise for moving some of the day to day activities in a more organized way. For many processes, requests and approvals were being taken manually. With the help of TIBCO BPM Enterprise, we moved it to a Maker Checker flow. Requests are being created in BPM and with LDAP integration, approval notifications are also being sent making it easier for the approvers to taken action on the pending items.
Pros
- Integration with corporate LDAP
- Reporting using BPM event capturing
- Email notifications and reminder emails
- Easy integration with Custom UI
- User Role Management
Cons
- Out of the box forms can be updated to a new and better version
- Java Script supports a limited functionality. It needs to allow use of more features of Java Script
- Testing can be done only after deployment. There should be some way to do a basic test without the need for deployment
Return on Investment
- Processing was faster with the use of TIBCO BPM Enterprise
- More organized way of doing things
- History was maintained, helped in reporting
- Can be difficult to understand for some using the tool for the first time
