Areas for Improvement

Do Not even consider allowing them as your processing company unless you enjoy being ripped off monthly and disrespected by their lousy customer service

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We unfortunately utilized TSYS Gateway for many years to process our customers credit card payments. Recently we ran an audit and realized how expensive thier fess added up to every month, so we canceled and started running all of our payments through Quick Books online. We canceled TSYS aka epay early December 2023. I just received a statement from them for ZERO transactions processed by them and a notification that they deducted $327.98 from out business account. This what they charge monthly rather you utilize their services or not. I called to let the know that I did called over a month ago to cancel and that they were steeling from my account. Is customer service Representative was extremely rude and uncooperative. fire beware, worst customer service ever and they are professional thieves.

  • [Huge negative impact for my business]. For a service that was [promised] to have no fees, if not utilized, cost me over $200 in fees.

In my opinion, Stay away from TSYS Payment Gateway/Global payments

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Credit card processing at a brick and mortar store and online processing for monthly reoccurring billing.

In my experience, ever since Global Payment bought TSYS Payment Gateway, they nickle and dime you every chance they get. Now they are charging a monthly fee of $179 and I get charged twice for both my online account and my store.

My credit card processing used to cost me around 3.5%, now with Global Payments, they take 7%. I think it is outrageous. In my opinion, if you are a small business, stay far away from any company owned by global payments.

In my experience, the other unethical thing they do is when they periodically update your software, they eliminate your ability to take debit payments.

Then you have to call customer service for them to reprogram your machine to allow debit. In my experience, it will take an hour if you are lucky. Pretty soon you give up.

THey make less money on debit transactions. THey don't tell you when you are not PCI compliant then charge you $125.

So if you don't want to give 7% of every hard earned dollar to this billion dollar company, I say stay far away from TSYS Payment Gateway and any other Global Payment subsidiary.

Pros

  • In my experience, customer service in generally helpful and easy to reach
  • I think the new website is pretty cool
  • In my opinion, they are very courteous as they rob you blind.

Cons

  • Stop taking away my ability to use debit cards
  • 7% is outrageous. I can't continue at this rate
  • In my opinion, the yearly fee is an obvious profit grab. Discontinue it.

Return on Investment

  • I have had to ask for cash for a lot of transactions because the fees take up to 30% of my profits. SO for some of my service repairs, I take payments in cash of check only since my profit margin is only 20%

Simple Payment Solutions, for a price

Pros

  • Generates detailed reports
  • Allows for multiple users to access at one time
  • Easy to read statements

Cons

  • Pricing is not competitive
  • Extra fees and charges frequently
  • Difficult to navigate to the correct spot from the website-- there are 22 products listed for Merchants to use. No shortcuts or quick links
  • Interface is very simple once in transaction central. It does not look as professional as other services.

Return on Investment

  • Positive impact on work flow- employees can quickly cross-reference reports to close out the day
  • TSYS can be expensive. We are considering alternatives as we continue to improve our practice.
  • More than one employee can be logged in at one time allowing for responsibilities to be shared to help with work flow and productivity.
