Pros

  • While going from one floor to another getting issue of disconnectivity that is resolved by Ubiquiti Networks UniFi by Roaming feature
  • Monitoring Usage of Internet by any device is very easy that we can check in dashboard and get infomation like via which SSID device is connected, MAC address of that device also we can block any device from that dashboard.
  • User Authentication is also most imp feature that will provide security to network and avoid unwanted user to use our network.(Radius server)
  • Limit Speed for different profiles like we can resctrict mobile users upload download speed.

  • Compatibility issues when trying to integrate Ubiquiti Networks UniFi
  • devices with older hardware or legacy networking equipment so flexibility and compatibility with Third paty devices.
  • Difficult to configure features like WAN load balancing and failover so it can Improve quick support for configure this kind of features.
  • Faced issue once that after firmware update one device randomly getting restarting. so need to work on stable update for all devices.
  • There is one feature name wireless meshing that is also need to improve because due to that faced so many issues of disconnecting of network.

  • Positive Impact as said before it's cost and Easy centralize management.
  • Positive Impact: Improve Wireless performance and security features like VLAN, firewall, Taffic management , integrate Radius server.

  • Unifi has been a force multiplier for us, our techs can spend more time fixing issues and less time traveling.
  • Cost is low enough that it is easy to convince clients to use it, all the features are great but if your client won't pay for them it doesn't help you.
  • Clients are happier because we can make network-wide changes while they are on the phone instead of waiting for someone to get out there.

Pros

  • Price: Super reasonable for a cloud-based offering.
  • No ongoing license fees!: To me, this is the best part of it.
  • Ease of deployment: You can literally deploy an entire network in minutes.
  • Lots of choices for WiFi.

Cons

  • VLANs: They can make these work more smoothly. Setup can be more intuitive.
  • Cloud Key: These need to be stabilized; they lose their programming a little too easily.
  • Stop selling the Gen-1 cloud key: No battery means you need an external power source or you must be onsite to power it off before updating.
  • Portal can be modernized.

Return on Investment

  • Can't say it enough, prices are awesome, so ROI is very high IMHO.
  • Remote cloud management allows me to service more clients at greater distances.
  • Project estimates become much more attractive when you can show the savings vs more expensive solutions.

Ubiquiti Networks UniFi solution is a reliable cost-effective Wifi solution in the market. It has all the basic features required for a small to medium enterprise wireless network. It is also centrally managed via a software-based controller which can be installed on any compatible computer. we have been using this solution in one of our larger remote sites where the wireless coverage area and a number of users are large.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We manage the infrastructure of a 4 story building where our headquarters is and needed a solution to provide guest internet access to the other companies that have offices in that building. We also have a camera system (CCTV) from Unifi in place to monitor all important areas of the building and make sure everything is safe. That is the use case for Ubiquiti Networks UniFi in our company.
