What is Wasabi Object Storage?

Wasabi Technologies headquartered in Boston offers "hot cloud storage," object storage available pay-as-you-go as well as reserved capacity storage which they describe as tier free, and easily manageable. Additionally, Wasabi offers a Cloud NAS option, designed to be "hands free" and require minimal effort from administrators while having no impact on users and applications.

Wasabi, great for Sushi and great for Cloud Backups!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Wasabi as our online cloud backup container. We were previously using another product, but the monthly costs were getting out of control. With Wasabi, we have seen our costs cut by 70% and get the same level of quality at a much higher value. Plus the storage is HOT verses cold storage we had before.

Pros

  • Great Customer Service
  • Ease of access to data in the cloud
  • Easy billing and cost management
  • Wonderful Cost
  • US Based hosting

Cons

  • Id love to see them add a FIPS compliant container to allow for secure storage for DoD.

Return on Investment

  • The cost savings from previous Cloud backup solution is over 70%
  • Ease of backups - Incorporation with Veeam already in place
  • Our biggest bottleneck for throughput is our on-prem storage offloading to Wasabi. COuldnt be happier with thier network bandwith.
