Use Cases and Deployment Scope
What do I like best? As our company has manual procedures mainly for HR management so we were struggling with manual editing to synchronize procedures in manuals, tracking the changes, etc. I previously had experience with Web Manuals while searching for a better solution and I was very satisfied, so we chose this solution. We just started using Web Manuals but already I noticed how easy is to synchronize the procedures and apply those changes to related manuals. It is easy to navigate and review changes. What do I dislike? I noticed some small "bugs" but all were reported to Web Manuals support for rectification. Possible compatibility issues with new IOS versions. What problems did I solve with the product? What benefits have I realized? Manual synchronization for us is the most important benefit. Of course, we save a lot of time while editing manuals. Writing manuals, compliance tracking, distribution of information and instructions, available everywhere. Recommendations to others considering the product: Ease of use, features, reliability, and cost all come to mind in selecting technical writing software for F1 help, manuals, and related documentation. The output formats are just a few clicks and the results speak for themselves.
Pros
- Employee attendance tracking for small unit departments
- Work place instruction
- Having controlled documents with links between other such docs
Cons
- Certain automated modules require validation by the user when they update themselves, it would be better if this is automated.
- Publishing a manual as PDF can take several minutes to process, this processing time could be improved.
- Possible compatibility issues with new IOS versions
Likelihood to Recommend
Formating, linking, compliance, and customized distribution. It is easy to navigate and review changes. Hospitality Management, Airlines crews, individual management systems, etc. Standardization of documents; compliance checklists easily available. If you are limited on office/ management staff and/or do not have a single base for your flight crews, Web Manuals would be the tool for you.
