Therabill by WebPT - good for smaller clinics integrated with WebPT
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
It was an effective tool for processing claims and payments for us, but parts of the UI and certain processes were far too tedious and time-consuming for a business of our size (50+ employees). There are various payment posting processes that will require you to enter things manually by person, which for large clinics receiving hundreds of claim payments each day, becomes incredibly bothersome. However, for a smaller clinic wanting to handle their own claim and payment records, I do think Therabill by WebPT would be an effective solution with minimal tedium.
Pros
- Knowledgeable chat support accessible directly on the site
- ERA posting can be very simple with minimal manual corrections needed
- Patient records are comprehensive
- UI is fairly intuitive, with it being fairly easy to find whatever you're looking for
Cons
- While knowledgeable, support agents don't seem to speak English as a primary language, so communication can be difficult at times
- I feel billing secondary insurance is really tedious, having to submit it patient by patient
- Handling claim denials, corrected claims, and resubmissions is incredibly tedious and difficult, in my experience, requiring a great deal of time and moving across the site to handle one claim at a time
Likelihood to Recommend
For smaller clinics who see fewer numbers of patients or rarely deal with claim denials, Therabill by WebPT would be satisfactory and effective for use. However, because the workflows for handling claim denials and for entering batch payments can be so tedious, difficult, and time-consuming, I would not recommend the suite for businesses with greater quantities of daily claims or complex billing scenarios.
