Use Cases and Deployment Scope

With Xactly Incent I can trust the accuracy of the payouts (commissions and bonuses) regardless of how complex the comp plans are. It offers transparency, great historical tracking, reporting, quota loading, etc. I find it very user friendly and configuring the comp plans is quite easy. Analytics is a great, versatile tool. First class support always available, providing great help.

It offers transparency, historical tracking of people details, commissions, bonuses, payments, quotas, etc. Manual payments and draws are easy to process.
It's a good tool for reporting all loaded / calculated elements.
I find it very user friendly and configuring the comp plans is quite easy.
Xactly Support offers great help for each open case.

We have migrated most of our sales plan participants to Xactly Incent for their incentive calculation and reporting. Previously, all of our calculations were done manually in Excel. This left us vulnerable to human error and incorrect incentive payments. We also used to email the individual incentive statements to each participant. This was another risk of sharing confidential information with the wrong person. Xactly Incent has eliminated both of these risks for our company.

Pros

  • Built specific to our needs. We don't have to change our plans to fit their box.
  • Handles large quantities of data with no issue.
  • Gives participants progress to goals to keep them motivated.

Cons

  • Giving more than one manager access to view a participant's data. For dual reporting employees.
  • Would like more flexibility with the Standard Incentive Statement.
  • Easier process for setting up the new year.
  • The drill down function to get to the detailed data is limited to 20 standard columns. Would like it to be customizable by component.

Being that Xactly Incent is custom built to meet our specific plan requirements, it has been well suited for almost everything. One scenario where we could use some improvement is manager reporting. Better visibility into the roll up of any team goals and team actuals. Also some of the incentive payment information is a bit clunky. We calculate incentives each quarter on a YTD basis and then subtract was has already been paid. Sometimes this creates a shortfall for the sales rep that needs to carry forward. Reporting for this doesn't flow easily.

We use Xactly Incent to calculate credits and commissions, report results to sellers and to executives, and generate reports in a payroll-compatible format. It replaces a time-consuming array of Excel spreadsheets and efficiently enables the processing of sales data.

Pros

  • Efficiently processes (and reprocesses if necessary) sales and adjustment data.
  • Easily digestible reporting for sellers.
  • Ability for the administrative user to update rules, plans, and structures.

Cons

  • The Analytics function seems robust, but is unintuitive to the point that we don't use it (in favor of exporting full data and building our own reports).
  • While changing rules and logic for fields existing in Xactly is straightforward, adding new data fields to be pulled in from our Salesforce system requires services support.

Likelihood to Recommend

It seems like an excellent and adaptable tool for our use case of several hundred sellers and a single data source. Further, I've seen glimpses of its abilities beyond our requirements (we've barely touched on the Trigger components) but know that it could certainly fill a different set of needs than we have.

Xactly Incent is a great tool for the Commission process

I am the Commissions Manager. Xactly Incent automates the commissions process for our sales and BDR teams. We automate the feed from SalesForce to Xactly Incent so that our teams can automatically see what their commissions are at any point throughout each month. Xactly Incent also streamlines the document handling process so that the reps can sign their plans in Xactly Incent and review them at any point throughout the year. We currently have reporting for our reps that allows them to see their attainment at a glance. With the new reporting coming out on April 18th we are really excited to see the upcoming changes for Xactly Incent.

Pros

  • Xactly Incent allows quick feed changes with Connect.
  • Xactly Incent allows intuitive plan design so that quick changes can be made with plan changes.
  • Document Management allows quick disbursement of plans to reps as well as record management of the plans.
  • Xactly Incent allows visibility to the reps at any time so that they do not have to wonder what their commissions are.

Cons

  • Reporting is a big issue with Xactly Incent; however, they are rolling out a new reporting platform on April 18th which we are thrilled about.
  • If Connect was made more intuitive that would be amazing. It is very funtional and easy to use currently. It would be great if it was designed more like the plan design.

Likelihood to Recommend

The platform is absolutely amazing for all parts of the commission process. The only drawback is reporting. The new funcionality will be coming out and from the presentations it looks like the new platform will be taking care of the previous issues. I cannot give the software a perfect 10 yet; however, I am anticipating rating it a 10 after the reporting comes out.

It is the software we use in my company for commissions. There we can have visibility of the deals we closed, the commission attached to each deal, and visbility of our quoted split by quarter.

Pros

  • Visibility of all the commissions. Per quarter and per opportunity
  • Visibility of how much we've achieved in % and amount of our annual quota.
  • Visibility of our quota overlay, based on the uplifts we've made

Cons

  • The way they organize the detailed information of each opp.
  • The filters they use to search for an opp.
  • It could include more details about your profile and how you calculate the commissions.

Likelihood to Recommend

I love the way you visualize the overall commission dashboard, the dollar amount of what I closed, and the numbers divided by Q and month. However, when analyzing the information in more depth, it seems confusing and complicated to me.

We use it to calculate the sales commission for all the GTM representatives. It was implemented to calculate and display commissions for Sales, pre-sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and support staff. It has an estimator, a Dashboard for overview and a Team Dashboard & individual incentive statement. It also has Target acceptance module to ensure no discrepancy in Targets assigned in Power BI & the Xactly Incent®.

Statement - We can view the detailed statements of every individual regarding each deal and incentive. Incentive calculation - we could see the incentive we received for the quarter and we will receive for the month

We use Xactly Incent® to track OTE, comp, quota, variable comp and define compensation strategies. it has simplified and streamline our end-to-end incentive compensation programs both for sales and services organization. We use it in conjunction with Anaplan that sets the GRD, and targets by different lines of business. Have been using it for over 5 years at my current company

  • Some features that are in Anaplan - Example, Assigning Territories and Regions

We use the system as our source of truth for all commissions. Our reps are able to track their sales and commission payments using the system. Prior to implementing it exactly, we used an Excel spreadsheet to calculate commission. Then, I uploaded them to an outdated system; the reps had no visibility of their commission or how we came up with the numbers. Now that they can see it, they can inquire if items are missing or incorrect, and we can make it right so they trust the process.

  • Reports are easy to pull.
  • Auditing tools help.

Cons

  • Non hierarchy based reporting tools.
  • No historical views of data.
  • New views are hard to use.

Likelihood to Recommend

I’ve used other systems, and this is the easiest for the reps to view. It has a layout that is easy to understand and explain. On the administrative side, I can quickly pull reports to identify problems, and it is very easy to search. I like the fact that I can download most items.

I am an administrator and help commissionable employees with questions or issues. I use Xactly Incent to troubleshoot issues and for management reporting. Xactly Incent addresses the problem of managing multiple compensation plans that have very complicated calculations that would be challenging with other financial tools.

  • General customization and custom reporting
  • Calculation of complex plan rules and data
  • The application runs quickly and efficiently
  • Not much down time with the program
  • Document routing and workflow

Cons

  • I am a little confused by the employee setup and why there is a person and a position record and how they work together. Seems like it could be simpler, maybe just one screen to set up a new employee.
  • I would like to have somebody to speak with when submitting support tickets. Some questions are quite complicated and would benefit from discussions, rather than trying to communicate an issue via email.

Likelihood to Recommend

Xactly Incent is well suited for communicating commission information to the field. I love that they can just log on and see all the data they need to verify the commissions they receive. I also like the option to post messages and announcements within the application.

Use Xactly Incent to pay quarterly and annual commissions and bonuses. It keeps track of all the bookings and payments made on particular orders. We have split assignments as well as various lines of business - which are brought in from SFDC, and Xactly Incent module is able to complete the calculations and the analytics module provides the reports that are used by our leaders.

  • Proration of compensation from the effective date on the people record.

  • If one person needs a change in Hierarchy - the version need not be for ALL

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited where sales are based on revenue, bookings or subscription. Quotas for multiple years can be maintained and the Xactly Incent module is capable of providing the attainment% as well as Team Rankings by team. Visibility of payments, attainment, performance of team on landing page is extremely valuable to our leaders.
