It's great for going "Live". I use it when I stream at car shows or at events. Its great to show whats happening now (at the moment) and the people watching can interact with you (the streamer) as they watch
Pros
video quality
fan/viewer interaction
Live scheduling
Cons
user base could have an easy edit page

It's really a great platform for people that want to go live or stream. There are already so many people using the platform and if you go live on youtube there should be a boost in your viewer count. It's also fun being able to stream/ go live, on your phone, iPad, camera, etc.
We don't make use of it in my organization, however as a Premium member of YouTube I subscribe to many channels of which some only have live broadcasts. I watch church live on a Sunday and many others. I did a live once, come to think of it off my Parrot. But it only really got views after the live broadcast.
Pros
Since Covid I tend to watch church live
I follow [...] and she has two channels. One for random, on the spot and her second channel for recordings.
Some supermarkets do live advertising or clothing shops I've seen/watched
music is my every day live at work
international news. YouTube is my only paid service.
Cons
I do find that sometimes the live music channels (not radio) that i have playing at the background of my workday has a lot of duplication. Like it's not live, more like few tracks on replay.

If I'm unable to attend, example, there was a motor show this past weekend, some of the manufactures had live material as the new vehicles are revealed.
YouTube Live is perfect to engage dynamic range of audience. I have used it to engage with over 1,25,000 unique individuals over 3500 live streams enabling to build a connected and dedicated community. It also helped build business outcomes. Livestreams have been used for patient engagement sessions, webinars, live felicication events, award ceremonies and multilocation digital sessions. It was a lifeline during peak of lockdown with most people preferring to connect over live streams and not watch news or other stale media content. Over time we have streamed live interviews , podcasts and even fun activities across gepgraphies
Pros
YouTube Live is so easy to use that it doesnt need a lot of technical expertise to go live, it engages with audience through live chat and reactions ensuring 2 way connect
It is very easy to connect via rtmp to streaming softwares thus making the engagement much better using different approaches
It records, transcribes and makes sharing and resharing content very simple and easy
It is bery easy to embedd into different applications and webpages or even whatsapp
Cons
It could have options of studio like a oneline platform of restream of fb live to help make multi people connect, tickers etc
There should be options of virtual backdrops and faceless live streams with other videos or images via mobile
It could make resharing content a little easier to more platforms and also improve the auto edits into bite sized content

YouTube Live is best suited for conducting live interviews, live podcasts, live events, this could be either digital or physical events, community building, community connect, education, webinars, product launches. another good use case is for having live exercise sessions like live yoga sessions or meditation sessions where instructor led sessions can be conducted remotely and two way communication can be established using the chat function. only place where I feel it may not be great is where you want to limit the access to who joins into the live stream especially when you are embedding it into another page restricting sharing becomes difficult. Or having the person find the actual YouTube Live link and share it without your control might make it difficult.
I use it to engage with my audience (spanish students and teacher) and interact wit them in a playful way. Since they can interact via chat, it's a unique way of "talking" to each other in real time in a way that wouldn't be possible through social media or the newsletter. It has helped me a lot to make launches or introduce news from my business to my audience.
Pros
Allows to interact with your audience via chat
It's very easy to set (a couple clicks and boom, you are live)
You can integrate it with Zoom and other tools
Cons
Integrating it with other tools such as Zoom is not hard, but it's not very intuitive at the beginning. I feel like it should be better explained how to do it.
I miss having more ways to interact with my audience (live surveys, games, etc)
There should be an option to do a Live for only a segment of my audience
Likelihood to Recommend
If you have a preexisting community somewhere (a newsletter for example) and you want to interact with them, YouTube Live is a great tool to do that. In my experience, a Live is great to make announcement, discuss topic or even make interviews if you integrate it with Zoom.
I guess it's not as useful if you haven't build a community yet, since people are not going to show up on your live if they don't know that you exist.

We usually use YouTube Live during our Annual CRM sessions, it works great from any part of the world as well as very convenient for everyone because everybody use the YouTube in their phones as well as in their laptops.
Pros
Online Sessions
Connects with everyone
Convenient for every employee
Use-friendly
Cons
It is good, but yes, there are room for improvement
Voice quality
Video quality

It is well-suited when we do our sessions for across the globe. Furthermore, during our annual meet at abroad, where we connects with India and to other parts of the globe.
We use YouTube Live to watch broadcasts and premiere our new videos as live events, and occasionally broadcast. YouTube Live is a feature we don't utilize frequently because we don't see opportunities to connect with our audience through it. People prefer connecting with creators over brands, so we believe the best approach is to collaborate with a creator or advertise on other live streams.
Pros
Live Video broadcast
Chat feature
Integrated with Youtube
Cons
No raid/hosting function similar to Twitch to pass viewers to other channels
Slow ability to make changes to the platform
Channel points similar to Twitch
Likelihood to Recommend
I don't think YouTube Live is the best investment for a creator or a brand, especially. Brands often struggle to connect personally with customers, which is crucial for building a following large enough to warrant a return on investment through any live platform. We think that advertising would be a good avenue for audiences of a younger age, though.
