Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

DraftSight is used by some employees with great satisfaction. It is simple but powerful and helps them with their daily problems with opening and editing designs of all kinds. They generally use it as a replacement for more expensive software. I believe that in the future we will also rely on DraftSight for this kind of operation.

Pros

  • DWG files.
  • Simply to use.
  • Powerful.

Cons

  • Economics. It's not exactly cheap.
  • Type of editable files.
  • Other type of payment.
  • Positive: it helped our colleagues to work with all kinds of designs.
  • Negative: is expensive.
  • Positive: it's powerful and light enough.
DraftSight compared to AutoCAD is a little cheaper and does a lot of things AutoCAD does. Having also CATIA we wanted to trust DraftSight.
It is suitable for medium-sized companies like ours but I also see it in both larger and smaller companies because it is powerful and flexible. However, we must take into account the cost, which is not exactly low and with the tight budgets of recent periods, it can become a problem.
