If you need enterprise-level flexibility to organize, design, orchestrate, and execute email communications, then Adobe Journey Optimizer is potentially a very well-suited tool. Sending a high volume of emails is easily accomplished, and targeting either a broad or very targeted audience is also relatively easy. Regardless of your specific circumstances, this "best-in-class" option is worth a look.

It's a good fit for companies that have several departments that need separate mailing lists under the same domain. LM is an excellent Discussion List Medium: plenty of features (all open to customization), has searchable archives and easy for members to use. No drop and drag features, does not look up-to-date considering what it can do. Template creation can be a pain. It does do marketing, Unit Price, Quantity, Product/SKU#, Interest Stage and Interest Points. You can use a purchasing script or shopping cart application can then dynamically update these variables with information about the customer's purchase, which then is sent to LM However it takes some effort to set this up.

  • It doesn´t keep the last search you sis in the journeys and you have to enter the search parameter every time
  • there is a window of time during the day that the audiences give out errors and you can´t see the estimates
  • I should be able to select STO in campaigns, not only in journeys
  • I should be able to select the email parameters when using campaigns

  • Interface, needs a modern look.
  • HTML Editor and built in templates. Would be nice if they added up to date templates for responsive design. It's easy to create a responsive design template but it has to be made in a different program, copied and pasted into the editor.
  • Ideally with API you can integrate LM with any other programs. Too many competing programs have this all ready done so the end user can use it immediately.

We will most likely not use Lyris LM for much longer. We have recently been offered to utilize a different software that better meets our needs, is current, user friendly, and has fantastic reporting capabilities.

Usability
Like I said before some things are very friendly user, But the majority of capabilities are very difficult to access and really understand. That´s why there is a need of big groups in order to work with Adobe Journey Optimizer because a few people not would be able to own and know all the Items.

Alternatives Considered
Each of these products represents a legacy solution that has been replaced by AJO. AJO allows for all of these marketing functions to live within a single platfrom. While AJO has a learning curve that is steeper than working with individual vendors, it does allow for a consolidation of knowledge and the underlying data stack, so eventual efficiencies may be realized over time

We selected Lyris LM based on cost, the fact that we can create custom reports and the way that they handle bounced emails just to name a few, It is easy to use and we have control of who can and cannot use. With a virtual list I can create a list or take a list down at any given time without filling out a form or contact with my provider and my list looks as if it is coming from my own server @museum.com.
