Each seller has his or her own micro-store with a customizable storefront, categories, filters, and search. Just like in Amazon. Some are expensive, the others are not user-friendly. In the end, CS-Cart Multi-Vendor Marketplace Platform is best in terms of these two very important factors.
Chose CS-Cart Multi-Vendor
We selected CS-Cart Multi-Vendor Marketplace Platform because we actually control the shopping cart. I would hate to get into a subscription model where a third party can take over your hard work because you didn't pay a monthly fee (or missed it). I also dislike the idea of …

Great for a quick and easy setup of a multi-vendor solution, supporting multiple stores / languages / payment options. Will probably need some tuning if you have 1 million products or so. Great if you have a PHP dev or team, probably not the best option if you don't know the language and need to customise backend logic.

It is well suited for large organizations with many SKUs, promotions, and large teams, where flexibility and speed to market are not necessarily as important as repeatability and stability. It is also well suited for digital products, especially if they sell internationally. They have the ability to integrate with an existing system for user management and website in a rather straightforward way as well.

Cons
  • update subscription
  • 3rd party theme & addons subscriptions (its not sure that you have also updates in 2 years)
  • expensive license prices (if everything is cheaper, more peoples will buy it)

  • Integrating with any 3rd party is challenging. The more you can do to clearly define your requirements, the easier it will be to integrate.
  • It can be difficult to differentiate and customize your product with an outsourced solution.
  • Your internal timeline might not match with their timeline and delivery schedule.

Inertia and cost. To switch platforms would require a significant undertaking to migrate product catalogs, websites and retool marketing efforts. It would require a significant cost differential or game changing technology that would bring a decent ROI on the change

Usability
The software consists of most of all e-commerce related features. Also, there are plenty of third party addons are available in the market which can improve our business. There are a lot of powerful themes available in the cs cart market which improve the look and feel on the front store. If CS-cart adjusted the price on their software license cost, controlling the third party addon cost and provide more freelancers with cheaper hourly rate for the customization on the cs-cart multi vendor software, the cs-cart company can be a master among other e-commerce software companies in the world.

Return on Investment
  • From an investment point of view, it is naturally much more profitable to purchase CS-Cart Multi-Vendor than to assemble a team of developers and try to create such a platform from scratch.
  • Creating a marketplace is a rather risky business. If you don't know a lot about marketplace building technologies, consider investing in a different business. But if you have already decided on the idea, and all you have to do is find a suitable platform, then CS-Cart Multi-Vendor will probably be a profitable investment. And if your sales go at least half a year after purchasing this platform, then you will quickly enough recoup these several thousand dollars.

  • More sales and broader reach to consumers. With the web presence of the eCommerce site, Korn/Ferry products were accessible 24 hours/ 7 days a week. Prior to that change, consumers had to call to order products and had to wait on office hours of when a Customer Service Rep was available.
  • Access to data and analytical information for sales. This also allowed for making a more efficient inventory process.
  • Transformed the Customer Service role to Commercial Operations which was a major plus. The position became more a support position (which is what was needed) than what was previously a Data Entry position. This also allowed opportunities for marketing a lot of the eProducts to consumers that the organization had.
