VisionApp is not in the list. This is the application we used before we got introduced to RDM. VisionApp was great but it did not have the same features as RDM did. Perhaps VisionApp has had some updates but we haven't found any reason to switch applications again.
Chose Remote Desktop Manager
Far superior product than RDCMan.
Chose Remote Desktop Manager
From a multi-user perspective, we felt Remote Desktop Manager outperformed mRemoteNG and RDCMan as both of those tools required we copy/share their datafiles to keep everyone up to date.
Chose Remote Desktop Manager
Being a mostly Microsoft shop, RDCMan is the standard method of connecting and managing Windows servers. It knows its job and does it well. It's rare that I experience problems with the app. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Devolutions' product. Devolutions' Remote …

Chose Remote Desktop Manager
RDCMan is the only other similar tool I've used (outside of Windows Remote Desktop Connection). Remote Desktop Manager is more stable, easy to use, and has many, many more features than RDCMan. RDSMan feels very outdated compared to Remote Desktop Manager, and I could never …

When it comes to competition, none come close purely because I can do everything I need to in just the one application, whereas before I discovered Devolution's Remote Desktop Manager I'd have to use several.
Chose Remote Desktop Manager
Remote Desktop Manager was the best product and most useful when compared to the others we used/tested. There are so many more features available within the product, as well as a low entry point from a cost perspective. None of the other products met our needs fully.
Chose Remote Desktop Manager
Remote Desktop Manager does everything that LogMeIn does and much more. It accesses more systems than LogMeIn can and it cost way less than LogMeIn does. It is a win-win situation. Logmein does the connecting from the web but sometimes you don't want that overhead because you …

They don't even compare. Nothing really compares. RDM is pretty amazing.

We chose Remote Desktop Manager because it is a full solution to run multiple endpoints in different technology

Ease of use, GUI is user-friendly, and ability to link external credential repository.
Chose Remote Desktop Manager
Selected Remote Desktop Manager for the saved VPN capabilities as I use multiple VPN clients and passwords.

We also evaluated Intune remote support offering and TeamViewer. Those two performed worse than Zoho Assist, despite being more expensive, and their multi-platform support didn't match Zoho Assist either. So choosing the latter was a no-brainer for us.
Chose Zoho Assist
After evaluating several remote support solutions, I chose Zoho Assist primarily because it offers the same—if not better—features as its competitors, but at a significantly more affordable price point. The platform includes robust remote access, file transfer, and unattended …

I have been impressed with the options that Zoho has for the price. It has really allowed us to do what we need to do at a price that is reasonable.

Chose Zoho Assist
Zoho Assist is often compared to screen sharing programs for meetings but its value is in the remote control and technical support functions. LogMeIn offers a similar function but at many times the monthly cost. They also charge extra monthly to use the software on mobile. Zoho …
Chose Zoho Assist
Our company uses most of the Zoho products so Zoho Assist seemed like a no-brainer. Capability-wise it offers all the basics our support needs to remote into a workstation and modify files, surf through browsers, and occasionally provide 'mini screenshare training' with clients.
Chose Zoho Assist
Regarding the issue of costs, I think that Zoho Assist is much more accessible and that is a benefit for both me and the customers who request remote assistance.
Chose Zoho Assist
My marketing team used to use Pardot instead of Zoho Assist and the reason we switched was because Zoho had everything in one place.

Well suited for employees (IT folks) that need to connect to multiple servers frequently and switch between those servers. in particular if not all are in the same domain or use the same OS (Windows/Linux, etc.) Less appropriate for users that only connect to a single remote device in particular if that is less frequent. The standard RDP solution is more than adequate for those users

We were previously using another remote support solution, but when their pricing increased significantly, we began looking for alternatives. That’s when we discovered Zoho Assist. It offers the same level of functionality and reliability as our previous provider—at a much more reasonable cost. I have already recommended Zoho Assist to multiple other IT professionals.

Pros
  • Customer service delivery, whereby you can connect to clients to assist and resolve an incident.
  • Working from home logging onto office based machine.
  • It helps to attend to a problem more quickly, thereby saving the cost of relocation and commuting to distant places.
  • Speed and cost elements are critical here.

  • One user's computer screen is black, no task bar and start button, after system crush, Unattended Access help me remote control it and use tools under quick Launch to change system settings and created new account for the user, so she can work few hours later.
  • One user computer need help vpn setup but it is not on Unattended Access list, so I create a temporarily Remote Support session, send the link to him by WhatsApp, after he download and install agent, I can connect and remote control it.
  • Sometimes user computer has randomly happening issue, I will connect it by Zoho Assist, record the remote screen, then will catch the issue and know it's triggered
  • sometimes I use video chat as a meeting tool with users
  • The file transfer by web client is useful for me, most of time is to upload files into user computer when it is not able to access our network drive

Cons
  • Occasionally there is a UI bug where the sidebar goes missing and you have to delete some files in %localappdata% to bring it back
  • Would be great if it could also connect to serverless SQL instances like Azure SQL
  • If computer sleeps and wakes with Remote Desktop Manager open it will comtimes ask you to re-login for no reason - as when you close and reopen Remote Desktop Manager it works

  • Improve connection times, especially when I'm on the move and the areas that I go to have low bandwidth, which affect the performance of Zoho Assist in my device.
  • Allow Zoho Assist to be integrated to other applications
  • Increase file transfer limits

I've been using RDM for about 10 years now. I started with the free version, which I used for a few years, and eventually switched to the Enterprise version. I can never go back now! I use this tool for everything and cannot see doing my job without it! Whenever we have someone new come in or bring in a vendor/contractor, they always ask me what RDP tool I'm using. Once I explain about it's features and all, they're usually instantly sold on it. :)

Usability
The software is easy to use and intuitive for a team that already works with Cloud or Infrastructure, and it is easy to adapt for teams that use it. (TR) O software é fácil de usar e intuitivo para uma equipe que já trabalha com Nuvem ou Infraestrutura, e é fácil de adaptar para equipes que o utilizam.

The system works. It is well designed and implemented. If the product didn't work, I wouldn't waste my time or my resources on it, but it does. When I connect to a system, it is as if I am at my clients location, sitting at their keyboard. It just works.

Support Rating
I've never had to use support as I've never had an issue. That said, you can open a support ticket right from the UI. The user forums are active, and there are thousands of threads covering many topics. Very easy to get support if needed. This is an easy ten.

Support is terrible. Quick to initially respond with the boilerplate "The information provided by you should be sufficient for my development team to analyse this further. I shall also write back to you as soon as I get an update from them on this
regard." And then you will hear nothing more from them. Chase further and you'll get stock responses such as "Our development team are still looking into this," etc.

Alternatives Considered
I could detail what each one does, better or worst than Remote Desktop Manager, but the main thing is, RDM (Remote Desktop Manager) does everything other tools do, faster and more integrated than others. And still saves credentials that could be used by one or more connections, in a better way than other tools.

Return on Investment
  • A common place for storage for all users. Instead of employees using multiple different password management systems, they all use Remote Desktop Manager to store them now.
  • We don't have to buy licenses from multiple vendors when everyone uses Remote Desktop Manager.

  • Using Zoho Assist has saved us hundreds of dollars in remote support fees.
  • The ability to give remote support has not only saved our IT department time and money, but has impacted every department in our organization.
  • Remote support has allowed us to keep our IT staffing costs low. Instead of hiring more people to move around and manage the flow across the organization, less people can manage more and "be in more than one place at a time".
