Although ZipRecruiter can provide some great candidates depending on the job listing and day, we also get a lot of applications there that are completely off the mark. I find that I receive more unqualified candidates and out-of-country candidates on ZipRecruiter.

LinkedIn is the new standard and the rest are still trying to catch up.
Chose LinkedIn Jobs
LinkedIn Jobs provided access to applicants readily available & mostly white-collar, professional level. ZipRecruiter excels at a less experienced level of candidate, which is great for that need. CareerBuilder is not the go-to job board that it used to be & candidate flow …
Chose LinkedIn Jobs
Both are similar basic job boards. Indeed doesn't have as far of a reach or as heavy a volume of active users. A lot of it is the luck of the draw and understanding where your target audience is most apt to patronize. I do think Indeed brings less junk, but LinkedIn reaches …
Chose LinkedIn Jobs
It has more interaction capabilities than Indeed.com or Glassdoor.com. It allows us to message them first instead of having to call them and waste time if they are not interested.
Chose LinkedIn Jobs
LinkedIn Jobs is by far the most efficient tool to use for posting jobs and sourcing candidates. It is the easiest tool to use, and it sees the best results.
Chose LinkedIn Jobs
ZipRecruiter and Dice are better at finding "HOT" candidates where they are actively looking for a new position whereas Linkedin is more of a "catch all" method. There can be more "solicitation" regarding Linkedin, however it provides the advantage of being a great source of a …

We use Indeed quite often as we are able to post positions for free however, we do not always get a quality candidate like we can from Monster.com
Chose Monster
Monster rounds our our resources to be able to deliver quality candidates for internal and our govnerment clients needs! It's a great commpliment, each tool has it's advantage! Especially easy interface with our ATS and reporting capabilitles.

We evaluated two more job boards. One of them was free of charge and it is much harder to manage meaning the layout of software is not easy. The other service that we used, we barely got applicants at all.

LinkedIn Jobs is the perfect platform for those companies that are looking for a hiring mechanism that is much more effective and saves them time. It is a service that works within a social network, however, this makes the effectiveness much greater since job offers can be directly accessible to a large group of people. Its ability to organize candidates in an automated way is incredible, this service organizes candidates by placement, endorsements and quality of skills. In addition, LinkedIn Jobs has a very attractive administrative dashboard, where you can have total control of the job offers open for the company, and which candidates have been received. It is an excellent option to carry out a quality hiring, where you can learn more about the candidate and know what benefits they can bring.

Pros
  • Customizable screening questions - they somewhat recently improved this!! Custom questions used to not be an option but now that it is, it’s definitely a step up.
  • Helps automate the process - can send auto-rejection email if I choose. I like to notify candidates that I did receive their application and am not just ignoring it.
  • Tends to offer high-quality candidates. If not a fit for the job they applied for, sometimes we have a different position for them.

Cons
  • Would be ideal to have an option for remote as the location of the position, or have it be a secondary location to the physical address of the company.
  • Some of the key terms are a bit generic, would be great to see main key terms and then secondary as many jobs fall under two different specialties/fields.
  • Repetition of the same jobs being sent out over the email digest.

  • Monster.com can improve on its data redundancy aspect. It frustrates the users to look at or access the same sets of results or the same applications again and again.
  • It can also look into the spam feature. There are ways one can spam it by taking out information.

Asking price really versus quality. Not a bad thing, but budget can be a problem.

Support Rating
There are many complaints that there is no way to contact their support. There is no phone number, nor chat and people aren't receiving responses on social media. I have used "Feedback" to report on the job description page the flaw in incorrect locations.

Monster is a job portal with rich features and a great depth of database in candidates. They also have a good search option that is able to display the right candidates when you search for them. The only gripe that I have about Monster is that they need to improve their database of candidates when it comes to blue-collar jobs or non-software jobs.

Indeed is simply a blind job posting board whereas LinkedIn Jobs has more transparency. LinkedIn is also better suited for professionals who may be looking for higher earning potential jobs whereas Indeed does have a lot of entry level followers tied to it. LinkedIn also serves as your cover letter and resume (although you should always upload both) where the recruiter can see your face, the brands and companies you associate with and any/all recommendations and posts you've placed within our area of expertise

Return on Investment
  • LinkedIn Jobs has not yielded any hires for our company. We have been able to network with many individuals and share ideas as well as promote our company via LinkedIn but we have not had any actual hires.
  • LinkedIn Jobs, has stimulated great conversation for connections and within our network. Many referrals come from LinkedIn Jobs without intermediaries such as job recruiters. It is like real life networking at a big work convention but on social media.
  • When using LinkedIn jobs, you do gain exposure for your company to potential job recruiters which have contacted us as well about potential ways we can work together.
