What is AccuRecruiter?

AlignMark aims to help companies identify better candidates while also providing a system for the hiring manager to become more efficient. AlignMark has operated since 1975.

AccuRecruiter is designed to solve the problems high-volume hiring brings with it. It does this through video-based job applications, to provide job candidates a better experience and that allows the company to focus in only on top-performers. AccuRecruiter pre-screens pre-employment applicants, as well as provides a management tool for hiring managers to see who they should focus on. The vendor states that at the end of a successful AccuRecruiter installation, clients save hours per-week in looking at resumes and find better job candidates.

AccuRecruiter review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

AccuRecruiter is one of the recruiting tools that we have used in our finance/accounting department to receive applications after posting for a recruitment requisition and receiving replies from interested candidates. The system allowed those involved in the hiring process to track the candidate's status. Sometimes we like to add the feature of providing a test or skills assessment as part of the screening process, which we found useful as AccuRecruiter provides the option to do this.

Pros

  • The applicant tracking process helps our teams keep organized especially given there are different stakeholders reviewing and making comments/decisions.
  • Providing an option to test or screen applicants helps make our job easier because then we don't need to sift through and spend time on applications that would be evidently screened out.
  • The video-based recruitment process helped our department save time because of the flexibility provided, especially during the remote times of the pandemic.

Cons

  • When we were working with our IT systems team to use AccuRecruiter, there were some hurdles that would need to be assessed such as if/how it can integrate better with our organization's current system.
  • There was a lack of ability to do reliable background screening of the candidates.
  • Reporting options can always be improved for example providing more charts and tables that are more ready to click and view.

Most Important Features

  • User friendly for the stakeholders who are in charge of recruitment because we are not always as comfortable with technology.
  • Good tracking and reporting including if the candidate has withdrawn from an interest in our job ads. Being able to capture why is also an important feature.
  • Ability to prescreen and assess candidates because sometimes we have a very high volume of applicants and don't have time to review and give good attention to them.

Return on Investment

  • The prescreening ability gave our department the flexibility to add questions to help identify the candidates that would be more suitable to review.
  • Provided a platform for our department's personnel in charge of recruiting for some roles over the pandemic to do this without requiring face-to-face interaction on site.
  • Helped with efficiency (saved time) with the recruitment process compared to that of our prior systems which were more email-based and could get disorganized.
