We are a small business that has used RUN Powered by ADP® for over ten years and the RUN Powered by ADP® service we currently use provides timekeeping, payroll, complete tax management, complete garnishment management, background checks, and posters. It also tracks health and dental insurance and SIMPLE IRA deductions and matching, although they offer to completely manage those and the employee handbook and workers compensation insurance too. I have previously used other software packages and tried to handle some of the tax reporting, but prefer and appreciate this approach through RUN Powered by ADP®.

RUN Powered by ADP® is well suited for small businesses, especially when the person doing payroll can use time savings that maintain or increase quality of payroll duties. If the payroll person has more spare time, they can take on more than RUN Powered by ADP® and can shop around for a cheaper bare-bones payroll service.
I use RUN Powered by ADP® to access payroll, time cards, and employment information for my Team in MI & FL. I've used the website for about 6mos and I can tell it's an improvement over the product we previously used. I really appreciate the intuitiveness of the website and I enjoy using the latest technology in payroll.

functionality: I wish it were easier to copy and paste numerals from Excel. Now when we paste anything with a comma and/or $ sign and then try to delete the comma or $, it deletes the whole entry.
Being alert that we may be wrong every time we pay out a big commission payment—or a small one—seems annoying sometimes. I wish we could turn that off. I know some people like it; you don't need to get rid of it for everyone.
Getting information on Workers' Compensation, Disability, and 401 (k) is via another ADP division/branch, but I wish it were even easier to move from RUN to the other divisions.

Small businesses with commissions are perfect. Super big businesses with lots of the same information every payroll probably need a different scale solution.
As CFO, I run Payroll and set up new hires - use the RUN Powered by ADP® HR Pro for several things dealing with HR. I've used ADP for decades at every company I've worked for and it's my preferred choice for payroll. It's user friendly and has great customer support. I can easily make changes to employees rates, deductions, address, etc., whenever needed...I also have the Phone App for when I'm away from the office.

Frequently I enter several weeks of manual checks for back payrolls to catch up taxes and I'd like to be able to "store" those in a place where it wouldn't impact a current payroll needing to be processed.

Any HR questions that arise can usually be answered on the site in RUN Powered by ADP® HR Pro. Also, the employees can have access to their own onboarding process if we choose to let them. They can make necessary changes to the W4 or address, etc., if this feature is turned on. I'm not aware of any areas where "less appropriate."

We use RUN Powered by ADP for timekeeping, payroll, hiring, and onboarding. The hiring tool is very effective as it allows us to post our jobs across multiple platforms using the Career Plug tool. We also use RUN to stay up to date on recent law changes that may affect compliance. We have four separate entities that we manage within one RUN account.
Pros
I like the HR section of RUN. I enjoy using it to stay up to date on the laws. It provides updates each month categorized by State and Federal law changes. There is also a great HR Compliance Database that helps me to make decisions and create policies that keep our entities compliant.
The customer service within RUN is great. Each time I use the chat feature, I am promptly helped and the associates ensure my issues are resolved. I really appreciate being able to quickly use the chat feature 24/7 when I have questions or need help.
I enjoy the Reports feature within ADP. To ensure our P&L is accurate and costs are allocated properly, I constantly run payroll detail reports. This also helps me when I am making the annual HR budget or need to pull wages for other parties.
Cons
Our managers sometimes have trouble approving timecards and PTO requests. They don't always get alert when their team puts requests in. Also, they are often taken to the wrong page when they get a PTO request alert with a link in it. The link often takes them to Wisely instead of the proper page to approve requests.
We have two new entities that have upgraded timekeeping applications that are within RUN. I can only track hours based on pay periods, there is no monthly report that shows me hours worked. This is difficult because I need this number for a monthly KPI we track.
When I assign training videos in ADP, my employees will receive an email with a link to the training, however, the link never works or takes them to the correct page to watch the assigned videos. I am not sure why.

RUN is a great option if you are a mid to small sized company. Due to the functionality, it seems to be designed for companies that are about that size. I do not think it would be suited for a large company or enterprise as the reporting and payroll procedures can be somewhat limited.
We are still new to RUN Powered by ADP® but it has already seeing great benefits. They have wonderful customer service so any questions or problems get addressed very quickly. I love the range of services that they offer and the caring employees that have helped us along this journey. The transition to RUN Powered by ADP® from our other company was seamless. The 401k transfer is very confusing but the experts at ADP have taken care of everything!! They are now helping me navigate more HR components to add to our services. They speak to us as if we are friends and not just clients. Using RUN Powered by ADP® also makes running reports very simple when we need them. I HIGHLY recommend using RUN Powered by ADP® for your business needs.

RUN Powered by ADP® works great for small business owners who are not crazy about doing payroll on their own. It takes the worry out of if it is being done right and also frees up time to spend on the actual business. If you are a control freak and want absolute control of every aspect of payroll, etc then RUN Powered by ADP® might not be for you because the automation and task handling takes A LOT off of the owner's plate!
We use RUN Powered by ADP® for time tracking, payroll, 401k and HR areas for our staff of approximately 25 employees. We have a mix of full time salaried professionals, regular full time, regular part time and hourly employees. We also utilize RUN Powered by ADP® for reporting and payroll audit purposes. The retirement services option and admin support is a part of our employee benefits package.

RUN Powered by ADP® has allowed me to spend more time growing my business by automating and streamlining many payroll tasks. Included in those are new hire reporting, garnishment payments, retirement payments, quarterly tax filings, payroll tax remittance, and workers' compensation reporting. I am able to easily pull reports and I have access any time, any where since the application is browser based.
