Anthropic is an AI research company whose product, Claude, is an AI assistant available for a variety of business tasks. Boasting a 100K+ token windows, Claude can handle complex multi-step instructions over large amounts of content.

The latest model (November 2023), Claude 2.1, is available over API in Anthropic's Console and is currently powering the claude.ai chat experience. Claude 2.1 delivers advancements in key capabilities for enterprises—including a 200K token context window, reductions in rates of model hallucination, system prompts and a beta feature: tool use. Anthropic states they have updated their pricing to improve cost efficiency for customers across models.

Commercial subscriptions to Claude include access to Claude Code, an agentic tool where developers work with Claude directly from their terminal—delegating tasks from code migrations to bug fixes. Claude Code works with any Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that has a terminal. In addition, Claude Code provides dedicated integrations for popular IDEs, which provide features like interactive diff viewing, selection context sharing, and more. These integrations currently exist for:

Visual Studio Code (including popular forks like Cursor, Windsurf, and VSCodium)
JetBrains IDEs (including IntelliJ, PyCharm, Android Studio, WebStorm, PhpStorm and GoLand)

While using the free Claude plan, there is a session-based usage limit that will reset every five hours. Also, the number of messages that can be sent will vary based on demand.
