What is BerniePortal?

BerniePortal is an online HR platform that helps small and medium-sized employers solve the transactional challenges of HR with software and the strategic challenges of healthcare with a trusted advisor. BerniePortal handles applicant tracking, onboarding, PTO tracking, time and attendance, compliance, benefits administration, 1095-C reporting, Payroll and COBRA administration. BerniePortal also offers a variety of payroll and carrier integration options. BerniePortal is supported by a network of healthcare advisors and brokers nationwide.

BerniePortal’s HR functions increase compliance, eliminates duplicate data entry, and reduces paperwork. The connectivity between features allows administrators to manage the full employee lifecycle from one platform, which increases the efficiency and effectiveness of essential human resources functions. An employee self-service platform, BerniePortal allows employees to log in remotely to accomplish tasks such as onboarding and benefits enrollment. BerniePortal’s remote capabilities also extend to mobile devices

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My organization uses BerniePortal as the central hub for all employee benefits selection and documentation. Employees can make their plan choices on the portal during enrollment, and can view their current plans and past elections at any point.

Pros

  • Easy to compare current and past elections
  • Centralizes all the documents relevant to benefit plans
  • Site layout is minimal and easy to navigate

Cons

  • Add the ability to check whether you're in an enrollment period or if not, when the next one is
  • The only time it is possible to compare plans and costs is during an enrollment period. It would be great to have a feature to allow this comparison at other points in the year

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BerniePortal for almost every process in our company. We use it for onboarding new employees. Assigning new tasks, evaluation them as well as telling their monthly performance. It is very helpful for these HR-related tasks. we recently started salary calculation through BerniePortal and it’s working [superbly]. It decreases our workload.

Pros

  • First of all it’s great in onboarding new employees.
  • It’s perfect in attendance.
  • It’s excellent in salary calculation system.

Cons

  • It needs little improvement in the leave management system. Employees need to add manually in order to request a leave.
  • It’s interface is bit tricky.
  • Attendance system is perfect but need some changes in its interface.
