We used Cvent Event Management for our registration platform and for our mobile app for a few years. The registration product is good, but extremely expensive. The mobile app is not as good and there are better and more affordable options available. We have two large conferences a year and Cvent Event Management tracks registration, payments, we have a different registration path for our members and can have different email confirmations.

We are using Cvent as our single source of truth for all event data. We're a large organization with over 400 employees and we're producing over 600 global events annually, with thousands more at the local and regional level. Cvent is critical to creating data consistency and clearly defined parameters that everyone in the organization must follow.

I am the sole person in charge of planning and implement all internal events, trainings, annual summits, quarterly meetings, and more. I'm using the platform to streamline my process and get back more time to focus more on the overall content and attendee experience and less on the small details that could be automated.

  • The navigation between sections of the platform are not as intuitive as I would like and it's taken me some time to figure out where to find everything because things feel buried

Cvent Event Management allows us to capture event attendance and possible sales leads through its integration with Salesforce. It also allows the event management team to arrange logistics in an orderly way by collecting attendee information in a centralized location. Additionally, the reporting feature and its available customization creates a clear way to report on event statistics and data.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Cvent Event Management is our primary hybrid event platform. We run a large hybrid meeting annually with >100 livestreams and 200 total sessions. The Cvent Event Management app and Attendee Hub are indispensable tools for all attendees, both in-person and virtual. Because of our confidence in the platform and its tremendous functionality and configurability, we're utilizing it increasingly for smaller, mostly virtual, events throughout the year, as well.

  • Highly configurable, with a wide range of options for virtual, in-person, and hybrid events
  • An optimal blend of functionality with ease of use, including a strong and well-communicated road map
  • Pragmatic yet visionary incorporation of AI for enhancing event building, production, and attendee experience
  • Robust and reliable, particularly given the complexity of the underlying architecture

Cons

  • Growth emphasis seems slanted towards trade shows and events vendor integrations (less so on educational/attendee features)
  • Because of rapid incorporation of new functionality, documentation can lag behind the current platform
  • Complexity is growing, so the platform requires a significant investment of time and coordination to fully leverage
