Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room PE VP Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am a PE investor so the platform has double application: (i) as a user in buy-side M&A processes and (ii) as an administrator in sell-side M&A processes

Pros

  • Q&A
  • Notifications / tracing of new information uploaded
  • Search

Cons

  • AI (Hebbia like)

Return on Investment

  • Saved me a lot of time as an analyst / associate handling Q&A
  • Like the sandbox functionality so that we can set up the room ahead of launch

Usability

The Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room experience

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a person working in financial due diligence, we mainly use Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room's when on larger projects, often with an international context. One of the problems we encounter often are files provided in PDF, with a lot of data in them. With the new pdf to excel converter, this has become less of a pain and adds real value, helping to speed up our due diligence process.

Pros

  • Search function works really well
  • pdf to excel conversion
  • easy to contact

Cons

  • When a client uploads a dump, it might be nice if it tries to auto sort and structure these files

Return on Investment

  • I would say the pdf to excel conversion increased the efficiency on our project by 5%
  • the search function works really well, resulting in less time spent on finding the right documents

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

to share documents with the counterparty in a M&A transaction; i find it very useful especially when I have to hide some sensible information that I can't share (i.e. the employees name). I think that the instrument to do that is very useful and works well. In addition the interface is very intuitive and perfect for the entrepreneur who might not be an expert in VDRs

Pros

  • hide sensible information
  • intuitive interface
  • set up groups

Cons

  • integrate the AI function

Return on Investment

  • useful but sometimes it's too expensive

Usability

Very good product for undertaking Due Diligence

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Used the product for undertaking due diligence as part of a wider corporate matter handled by the firm. Scope of use case was limited to a specific aspect of the DD review.

Pros

  • Ease of document access
  • Clear and simple to use
  • Clean interface

Cons

  • Short introduction to the platform and how it can be used (i.e., a mini tutorial)
  • Easy assistance (i.e., user guide or chat function)

Return on Investment

  • speak to wider corporate team
