We use Hippo as our CMMS to manage our demand work orders, planned maintenance, and vehicle maintenance. Our organization uses single sign-on and users can create work requests, while our technical team can respond, log their time, and schedule work.
Pros
Easy interface
Simple
Cons
While staff can enter their time, there is no way to access how much time an individual spends on a task, or how much time they have logged in a given period.
Their technical support is atrocious. There is really no way to reach a human. The support portal is completely automated, and just sends articles. There is no way to escalate. You can go for weeks unable to access the software with no help.
The product is not customizable.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is a good product for small organizations without complex needs. However, it is very difficult to get support.
Hippo [CMMS] is being used across the agency to handle work requests, preventative maintenance, and requests for logistical support from our facilities team. It has filled a need for a dynamic, transparent process where requestors are updated along the way while their request is addressed. Additionally, it has contributed to a better work environment and a more efficient operation of our facilities as well as our staff.
Pros
Communication - a requestor can see as many or as few details as they need
Ease of use - little onboarding or technical knowledge needed for requestors to utilize the platform
Technical support - Hippo support staff are the backbone of the platform and resolve issues very quickly
Cons
Fleet management - would like to be able to transfer vehicles between locations as you can with equipment
Full functionality on the mobile platform as is available on desktop
More flexibility in modification to different client needs

I find that Hippo [CMMS] is really well suited for any scenario. Most CMMS are geared toward manufacturing or industrial use, Hippo [CMMS] works as well for a school or church as it would for a factory. The ease of use for the requestor makes it an ideal platform for any institution.
Hippo CMMS is the tool of choice for our company to manage all work requests and work orders within the facility. Our whole organization inputs work requests for the Maintenance / Engineering department to review and complete. We use this tool to manage change, document downtime, and to schedule PM's, calibrations, inspections etc.
Pros
Simple to use Work requester.
Great customer service and support.
Not filled with non-essential items like a lot of "Larger" company CMMS systems
Cons
Mobile App - They are improving as i type this
Simplified Mobile app for requester only. Not everyone needs the full CMMS
Notifications of comments on completed work orders - In case I don't see a comment

[Hippo CMMS is] great for smaller companies that do not need the large CMMS programs. Maybe not so well suited for companies that use SAP or other all inclusive systems to manage their business.
We use Hippo CMMS so Hospital staff can enter in a task they need to be done. We use to have a paper worksheet, then a system that was tied into our medical system. The old system was a nightmare it was too customizable and not user-friendly. Switched to Hippo and could not be happier.
Pros
Staff input task of repairs
Keeping track of tasks and time.
Works really well for PM tasks.
Cons
Reporting could be a lot better. Try to find past tasks is hard.
Likelihood to Recommend
Works very well for users to input a task that they need to be done. Works very well for the person doing the work. Work comes in task is assigned and completed much faster. Works very well for setting up pm tasks and keeping track of parts and part numbers.
Hospital Hippo works well and really can not think of anything not appropriate.
Hippo CMMS is used in both our Cabinet Manufacturing plants to streamline all maintenance work orders. Also helps with keeping track of machine preventative maintenance needs. We use Hippo to setup up alerts with details for every machine in our plant. With Hippo CMMS we can track how much each machine costs us per year. This helps us set a budget. Great program, has lots of other neat things it can do.
Pros
Tracks machine maintenance costs.
Keeps preventative maintenance work orders on track.
Keeps history of all past work orders for review in case a problem you've already dealt with comes up again.
Cons
On the work order history print out, I would like to see more detail. Like the date range for instance.

Hippo also has parts management. I have set up all my maintenance parts in the Hippo system. When I allocate a part to a piece of equipment, the system will allocate the cost associated with that to the equipment. Also I have set up thresholds to warn me when my parts quantity is getting low. This helps us keep our inventory up to date.
HIPPO CMMS is being used at our company to track equipment and maintenance. We use it to notify the mechanics of field operation failures or issues. The issues are resolved and documented in the system. We can track our cost for repair per unit, and it assists in making decisions to replace or repair a unit.
Pros
Ease of use
Track maintenance
Failures of unit tracking
Cons
Reports could be easier to access
Report filters are vague
Some features are slow to return notification sometimes
Likelihood to Recommend
Small organizations that do not need all the features will have to filter out additional information on reports. Larger organizations could be more productive, not sure. It works for our company and allows access to the information with a little experience
We use Hippo primarily in the maintenance department. We use it for asset management, inventory of parts, labor tracking (maintenance), PMs, and other work order management. Our entire company can use Hippo CMMS as a work order request tool. With a login, anyone can create work order requests. There is also tracking for their request for them to monitor.
Pros
Work order requests are easily made and come to the appropriate person for approval. It is very intuitive, and documents/photos can be attached to a request.
Work orders are easily completed in the system. Each task can be selected individually as complete. manuals/photos/documentation can be attached and viewed within the work order.
Inventory is easy to search. You can search many criteria very quickly to narrow down your search. This is especially helpful when you have not entered inventory in a consistent format. You can still find what you need.
Cons
Completed work order reporting can be improved. It seems harder than it should be to get the data I need.
I would like to streamline the work order closing procedure. I feel like it takes longer than it should to open various screens and add labor, mark tasks complete, change status, etc. It is a minor inconvenience, but just waiting a few seconds opening up a new window is time-consuming with many WO at a time.
Labor tracking and reporting could be improved.
Likelihood to Recommend
I have recommended to colleagues. It is well suited for a small to medium size plant or multiple plants. A very large company may not be a good fit due to some of the slight issues with reporting. It is very good with managing equipment, good at work order management, and good and spare parts inventory management.
Hippo CMMS is an excellent tool for anyone who needs a simple, yet effective work order system. Before we had Hippo CMMS, we were using post-it notes and emails to keep track of all the projects, maintenance (preventative and reactive), and needs of our building. Hippo CMMS helps keep a better track of those needs while doing so with a budget in mind.
Pros
Preventative Maintenance Schedule
Easy-To-Use
Low Cost
Intuitive
Customer Support
Cons
Inventor Management
Mobile Integration
Likelihood to Recommend
Hippo CMMS is an excellent tool for any maintenance director with both easy to use tools and budget-friendly. The start-up for Hippo does take time (if done in house), but in the long run, it is worth it. Hippo CMMS allows you to customize your experience and provides detailed reports. Hippo gives you the ability to create preventative work orders, which had been a major sticking point with my team, considering in the past, it had been on post-it notes. Hippo has been a significant upgrade to our system and a massive help to my team.
