IBM MaaS360

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this software as an MDM. Placing devices into Kiosk Mode. Remote Trouble Shooting. Location Tracking. Without this product our tablet would be unlocked. This would ultimately leave us vulnerable if a driver were to go to a website or use an app that may put personal information at risk. Restricting the tablets through the MDM gives the company a piece of mind, knowing there is no risk for this.

Pros

  • Locks our company issued tablets into a Kiosk Mode
  • Allows Remote Trouble Shooting
  • Allows Location Tracking

Cons

  • Allowing more flexibility for the Kiosk Mode
  • Remote trouble shooting may not always work
  • Commands do not always complete in a timely manner

Return on Investment

  • We see time being saved by providing our team the necessary tools on a company issued device.
  • We are able to see when a user has last used their company issued device vs their personal device.
  • Pushing new software is easy when implemented using the MDM.
