Pros

  • spin power VSIs
  • provide the same power stack as on prem
  • integrates well with other IBM cloud services

Cons

  • UI is laggy
  • network config is complex

  • easily migrate to cloud
  • laggy UI gives a bad UX

Cons

  • GUI restoration of millions of files from long term archiving to archiving tear. We backup data to cloud in object and storage and move it to then long term archiving
  • IBM PowerVs profile changes for HANA DB, we want to use non certified profile while PowerVS instance is used as cold DR only for replciaaiton and change it to certified profile once we spin up DR as produciton

We are an IBM BP and we already successfully migrated several customers to IBM Power Virtual Server.

Cons

  • Please remove the 24 hours timeout for the image exports
  • Provide, if possible, a way to move images from one workspace to another
  • Increase the limit of 10TB for images captures/exports to Cloud Object Storage
