What is LinkedIn Talent Solutions?

LinkedIn Talent Solutions is a talent intelligence platform that provides two talent products, talent acquisition news, recruiting tools and best practices on LinkedIn. Job Posts, for hiring managers at small or medium-sized companies who hire sporadically, allows free posting of individual jobs to target relevant job-seekers based on job post criteria. Recruiter & Jobs Slots, for talent acquisition teams at companies who hire multiple roles throughout the year, is a sourcing tool that promotes teams' roles to relevant LinkedIn member targets, and helps recruiters find matches to specific advanced search filters.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Linkedin Talent Solutions as our main way to passively find candidates. We use it internally to reach out to people for our team and find qualified, interested candidates for our clients' positions. We also use it to post roles- this gives us extra exposure for those paid slots to advertise to potential candidates.

Pros

  • UI - Pretty easy to navigate once you get the hang of it.
  • Large platform of candidates. I can't find a better platform for finding professional candidates
  • Ability to post jobs - easy to use. Attracts more of the right qualified candidates than any platform that I have posted on.

Cons

  • I think training could be improved. It is a complex product. There are some basics to learn, but for the price you pay, I would love to see more regular training on optimization.
  • It is very expensive.

Most Important Features

  • Projects - I like that I can organize however I want all the candidates that I have.
  • Applications - You can have all your applications in LinkedIn Talent Solutions if you desire.

Return on Investment

  • Been able to find candidates for not only our business but our clients.
  • Ability to connect and find candidates quicker and have great conversations.
  • LinkedIn Talent Solutions has paid for itself tenfold considering the ease of use to find candidates active and not active on the market and help fill roles.

Pros

  • Confidentially of the profiles seen when you use Recruiter
  • Many search filters (although it depends on what the candidates have completed)
  • Help center easily accessible, chat not always opened but very helpful to solve an issue quickly

Cons

  • Have the full content of the message received on linkedin (basic) when we receive an email notification.
  • Propose related research to those already conducted
  • Filter the notifications by theme because depending on the size of our network we can receive a lot of them

  • Give us a large pool of candidates of various profile
  • Too much recruiters on Linkedin and some candidates / consultants start to deactivated there linkedin profile because they receive too much messages.

  • Building an audience

Cons

  • Building an audience and careers page. It can definitely improve
  • Pricing is a big one
  • Finally, using it as a recruitment platform. It still lacks integrations and smooth features to be the preferred tool for this.

A significant investment, but a worthwhile one for quality professional candidates

Pros

  • It's easy to create and save candidate searches
  • LinkedIn Talent Solutions is by far the best source of potential candidates, both in quantity and quality
  • Easy to use, intuitive UX

Cons

  • The cost is significant, especially for the more robust options
  • You can't easily collaborate with team members unless they have a license as well
  • Support tickets can take awhile to resolve, I've had one (bug with spend tracking) that took 2 months to resolve

Mixed Feelings

Pros

  • Boolean searches
  • Project Set-up
  • Post Jobs
  • I love that you can have the job applicants go straight to your url

Cons

  • Adding more detail to the "look" of job descriptions, bullet points, highlights, etc.
  • Templates to send to candidates to get better response rates on Inmails!
  • More InMails! Since the response rates are low....
  • Better way to alert LinkedIn users that they have an email waiting or someone who wants to connect with them. More interactive

Return on Investment

  • The majority of our ROI come from referrals, but LinkedIn Talent Solutions has also helped us find candidates. If they referral doesn't pan out, then Workable is usually next, followed by LinkedIn.
  • LinkedIn Talent Solutions has gotten more expensive and has eliminated the Small Business offering so we did not renew. It just became to costly based on the ROI.
  • Clients always like that we have access to post jobs to LinkedIn Talent Solutions because they consider LinkedIn legitimate and professional.
