I feel that Microsoft Yammer can be better but, somehow it is serving the purpose within the company so no issues with that.

We struggle in a remote posture to get to know each other in a friendly and meaningful way. We use Yammer internally to get to know each other, and share funny pictures, recipes, and other light communications that don't require an email. It's a great way to get to know people in a nice and friendly way!
Pros
Comments and reactions.
Encourages participation.
Light and easy to use.
Cons
People can dread using it.
Lack of comfort in sharing personal info.
Can be burdensome.
Likelihood to Recommend
Yammer is great when you have a company culture that encourages friendly collaboration and communication. It can be a great supplement (but certainly not a substitute) for bonding and sharing ideas and thoughts. Certain channels can be really successful, too, like a channel where people can post dog pictures or something fun like that!
Our organization uses Yammer for both impromptu meetings and scheduled conference calls. The ease and accountability with which every conversation can be documented and understood are immense. It is a great tool for sharing ideas and information within our organization. We will continue to utilize Yammer for the foreseeable future. Thank you.
Pros
Clear documented conversations.
Easy to connect with coworkers.
Consistent platform performance.
Cons
Not all external partners have this platform.
Some users are turned off by the social-media-like interface.
Likelihood to Recommend
Our organization relies on consistency and reliability for successful relationships, and this platform has provided those qualities and then some. At the same time, not all of our partners utilize this software, those who do have had great success with establishing a baseline to share ideas and thoughts with each other. We will continue to use this software for the foreseeable future.
Our company has been using this product as it encourages employees to not be distracted by other social networks. It keeps the work and social activities to be going in hand within the organization. It helps the employees to be in a better space. The employees are free to share either professional or personal posts over the network and it brings a more relaxing experience to the employees and team meats. it also helps to have better communication with other teams as well.
Pros
Cross app communication
dynamic communication
Activity trackers
Cons
Cross app communication UI
Better time management using more detailed time stamps
Work on UX

It is more of a social network but limited to the workspace. It can be entertaining and professional at the same time. It helps in better maintaining the decorum of the organization and also helps to enhance productivity within the organization. It can be one of the best platforms that more and more organizations can adopt to prefer people avoid other social networks in the workplace.
Yammer is implemented at our institution as another avenue for employees to connect and create engagement. This was implemented prior to the 2020 pandemic but has been accelerated in its use since.
Pros
It integrates into Office 365
It provides company-wide connection on one platform
It has mobile and desktop support
Cons
It competes with tools present in other Office 365 products
While integrated, it isn't intuitively accessible from multiple points in the ecosystem
Other products achieve Yammer's outcomes in better ways
Likelihood to Recommend
If you are an organization that does not allow social integrations to your technology tools, Yammer provides a good option that allows for some engagement activities while limiting exposure to tools outside the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
MS Yammer is currently utilized at my organization to ease interdepartmental communications between various users. The ease of use affords users to keep their respective email inboxes a bit cleaner. Yammer has also been utilized as a social medium to keep users apprised of events and updates in other departments across the country.
Pros
User interface.
Ease of use.
Adaptability.
Cons
Lack of integration with other MS Office.
Likelihood to Recommend
Yammer is well-suited to serve as an internal social media platform for company events. The user interface and quick and response.
It is not appropriate for detailed, in-depth conversations.
We use Yammer as a company bulletin board. We share new employee hires and resignations, company successes, and areas for improvement, process flows, and documents, region or team-specific news and more. The entire company uses Yammer. We have a range of all-company forums based on category and several department-specific forums. Using Yammer allows us to share information with the company without it getting lost in email inboxes. We find it better it a better tool for information that has a long life or needs to be referred back to at a later time, compared to using instant messaging tools like Slack (which we use for briefer announcements).
Pros
Email notifications for posts you have missed/might be of interest to you. Prompts you to open up Yammer and see missed announcements. This helps you keep up to date.
Stable application, rarely (if any) downtime which is important if you want staff to regularly refer back to it.
Historical posts are stored and can easily be accessed. This means it can be used as a repository and new staff members can read past announcements.
Cons
It needs better search functionality. It should allow you to filter search records by date or users or groups.
Bland user interface. It's a clean interface, but the design could be uplifted. Might help with user engagement if the design was modernized.
No clear way of organizing groups in the navigation menu which makes it hard to easily find groups you have to access.
You can add members to a group, but you have to search for members by name. It would be good if it could show all company members not in the group so you can invite members you think should be in the group.

We are a company with 50 employees with seven different departments. It helps us communicate across the company as well as departmental messages. Good for storing process related messages and documents. We encourage new employees to read through the history of specific groups so they understand processes, decisions, and actions.
Microsoft Yammer is being used across our whole organization. Our main use of Yammer is to get people involved with our different employee network groups. We’ve found it to be a great collaborative solution where we can give individuals the opportunity to work and chat with people they may not have the opportunity too on a daily basis.
Pros
It creates great collaboration.
Easy method to stay in constant contact with other employees.
It creates a casual, yet professional environment for people to share ideas.
Cons
The UI isn’t the greatest.
We’d like to see my updates to the platform to work out some kinks.
Allow more customization by companies.
Likelihood to Recommend
Microsoft Yammer is well suited for a collaborative environment where employees have the opportunity to work with one another in a very casual way. It is less appropriate when using the platform for very serious conversations. We’ve found it to be more of an instant messaging software, so we would recommend staying away from it if it needs to be more than that for your organization.
