Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I mainly work on the SAP ABAP platform coding background processes. Personally, I've never found an issue with the platform functionality and would highly recommend it to newcomers as navigation is often self-explanatory, and if not, there is not. There's normally a help button to assist in the next steps. However, I would like to see the help option explore a smaller learning curve.

  • Customization of UI and favorites help for repeated processes.

  • Tool tips on help could be explored.

I was encharged of leading a group of trucks with the idea to transport material (gravel, granite, etc..) to different locations, so I used SAP to monitor carrier performance, gain greater visibility into supply chains, and provide accurate and up-to-the-minute information about shipments and supply chain performance. With this information, I could keep the traceability of the material in the company.

Pros

  • Provide reliable information about the shipments.
  • Gain visibility of the material a long of the supply chain.
  • Monitor the carrier performance.

Cons

  • Program can not be easily manipulated to make results false.
  • Customization is very costly and limited.
  • Difficult to handle large amount of data.

  • User Role Management that allow us to create users to take care of specific tasks.
  • Material Management.
  • Sales and distribution.

  • Lower cost of implementation.
  • Is the best for inventory management that allows you to know the real state of your material.
  • Mobile application for SAP B1 is beneficial for approvals on the road and no need to be present on a system.

We use SAP Enterprise Portal to manage, report, and track expenses for travel and other resources. Employees use this on an individual level and a departmental level.

  • Lots of integrations.

  • UI/UX is relatively dated and at times clunky.
  • Some integrations don't seem to actually integrate very well.
