Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Teams Manager is used to track our experimental workflow through OneNote. Since it allows for OneNote integration into teams, this gives us the capability to streamline access and make sure that all data is captured in a managed way. This is the primary use case, but other templates are also available.

Pros

Cons

Tool tips.
Ability to have multiple windows open.
Guided videos.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's well suited if you or your organization performs tasks incorporating other Microsoft programs such as Onenote or Planner. Teams Manager allows for easy management of that software usage; if you do not use any of those, I'm not sure if there is much advantage in using it to manage workflow.

Microsoft Teams Manager is an online collaboration tool to connect within anyone with ease within and outside the organization it helps people to share their projects and thoughts through online video call and Audio call. I am currently the user of Microsoft Teams, and we use this for the internal conversation of organization you can see the employee current status their organization hierarchy their email address and their other contact details.

We use Teams Manager to manage Microsoft Teams across the organization, we are able to comply with the templates, channels. Users can raise a request to us to create new teams channel, planners according to these templates.

Pros

Effective management of Users and Teams group.
Creating templates for Groups, planner.
Naming convention to make sure the inactive groups are archived.

Teams Manager is well suited for both small and large organisations, MS Teams can be used as a communication medium to contact other users across the organization, or in case the domain is federated you can contact employees of other organisations as well. Teams Manager helps us to create new templates and manage users according.

Teams Manager for Microsoft Teams helps create different teams, giving them permission of what to access and define their limit. It is a platform that keeps the whole organization at one place. Previously when Work from home started it was a tough task to handle different teams in one place. You have to separately take the feedbacks of the projects etc. Now through this everything is centralized. Assigning tasks and seeing the progress of any project is easy now.

Handles different teams and teams members
Giving them permissions as per their job profile and necessity
Seeing the projects' progress through one platform

Cons

There should be a privacy for users chat in a team
Every user should not be allowed to create a team, but only Team managers should do this
Many channels which are inactive for long time should send notifications to the manager about the inactivity and thus should be deleted if not in use

For different projects in a big organization different teams can be formed and thus their internal tasks assignments can be done there. It is easy to manage, assign tasks to people in a particular project. People or team leads in multiple projects can share different channels thus maintaining different projects. Users should be refrained of creating new teams just for fun purpose etc. to avoid to much chaos.

We create a 'team' for each new project. Microsoft Teams Manager allows me to manage templates for new channels and organize the different groups. Archiving channels that are no longer needed once a project is completed.

Teams Manager for Microsoft Teams helps monitor the remote work effectively. It enables users to request new teams based on templates. It helps us to communicate within the organization audio and video calling, screen share facilities to a particular team are most useful features. Its easy to manage owners of team sites along with members and guests.

user interface can be enhanced to seperate the color coding for different channels
It would be great to receive notifications in Outlook for Shifts and be able to approve/deny requests and schedule changes there while it's synced with the Outlook calendar.

If your team has more than 3 people, you should have someone assigned as the Teams Manager. That way, you're guaranteed to have your channels and team site set up for success. If you are an employee that is only using Teams for quick chats, you and your team might be able to get away with not having a Teams Manager for Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams is user-friendly and convenient for all employees within your company. It allows employees to chat, send documents, schedule meetings, reminders, and SO much more. Microsoft Teams helps our organization be more efficient in a timely manner. We use it on a daily basis several times a day.

It allows the employees to use any team as a template. Channels can be added, which is also extremely helpful. Our organization uses planner and OneNote. Both planner and OneNote sync up to your work within Microsoft Teams.

Teams Manager is being used across our organization by each department manager. It addresses many business concerns such as approving requested time off (shifts), creating and assigning staff to specific channels so folks can communicate with the proper individuals, and controlling how staff can communicate (using emoji, memes, GIFs, etc).

Pros

Manage channels - the level of detail of managing what channels are created and how they function is great.
Manage users - it's easy to manage owners of team sites, along with members and guests.
Analytics - being able to review how each team site and the channel is being used is extremely helpful and can point out areas of weakness or concern.

Cons

I feel like the Shifts app could be more advanced to sync with Microsoft Outlook. It would be great to receive notifications in Outlook for Shifts and be able to approve/deny requests and schedule changes there while it's synced with the Outlook calendar.
It would be nice if the interface allowed further customization such as assigning colors to the separate channels. Some channels within team sites are rather lengthy and it would be great to group them into color groups.
Another nice feature would be the option to log in as one of your teammates so you can properly set up their Team account before they log in for the first time.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Teams is used across the entire organization. It has been a reliable source for communication given the remote environment we work in. Additionally, it is convenient as it can be accessed from any desktop as well as through an app on our phones. We are able to centralize documents within Teams and restrict access. This has been helpful in relaying information in real-time and easy access.

Pros

Easily accessible from any device without interruption of service.
Ability to have IM conversations with multiple people.
Ability to organize those IM conversations so you can go back to retrieve them.
Ability to have video conferences.

Cons

The video conferencing feature could afford to me a little more user friendly.
Branding of Microsoft Teams over Skype Needs done.
Making calls through Teams has not been very successful.

Likelihood to Recommend

Microsoft Teams has been great for our organization because a lot of departments are remote. Teams have been reliable without service interruptions which have allowed communication to continue with those remote departments. We switched from Skype which has proven to be the right move. However, we do not use the video conferencing feature though as that has not been as reliable as Zoom.
