VoIP system collaboration
Comparison of VoIP system collaboration features of Product A and Product B
Microsoft Teams is ideal for organizations where employees regularly collaborate by sharing files, working on the same documents, updating the progress, etc. This is because different file formats are supported for online editing and collaboration with the help of Microsoft Teams. Additionally, for every file which is shared among the team members, emails are not sent again and again which helps in easily managing and organizing files. It is less appropriate where the team members have to instantly reply to an urgent task as sometimes the notifications are not sent properly which may lead to a delay in the work.
I would recommend RingCentral for any business that looking to make the jump to Voice over IP and also want business essentials like video meetings all in one app. RingCentral Meetings integrates very well with its other communication tools which makes it very easy for a business to manage their communications in a single platform. The only scenario I see where RingCentral Meetings not being a good fit is if a business will be using video meetings as a marketing tool where they need extra marketing features like lead form captures and notification emails to be sent out.
Video calls are great with Microsoft Teams. They've made big improvements over the last year and I rarely have issue with getting on. It's nice when things just work.
The most used functionality is, of course, the chat feature. It does what it's supposed to do and you can create chat groups from whoever you'd like. We use it a lot when there is a special project and a team from various groups get together for a short period of time to get things done.
An overlooked function is the ability to search anything within Microsoft Teams. Any photo, document, or chat can be searched and found pretty easily. I can't tell you how many times this has saved me from having to rewrite something or start over.
It's easy to end up accidentally trying to run multiple meetings under the same account, which can cause churn and confusion for participants
Interacting with people outside the organization is sometimes hard because RingCentral Meetings requires them to download and install software - there's no plugin-free way to get in to the conference (other than just dialing in via audio)
A lot of our end users are repeatedly confused with how to select phone vs computer audio, so we end up losing time at the start of a meeting dealing with echoes on the line
There's only two roles in a meeting - Host and Guest. When we have large meetings with remote team members, it'd be useful to be able to manage subgroups of participants - i.e. Team Members vs Executives, to be able to control who gets muted or who gets dropped at different times in the call.
From time to time we encounter notifications of instability of the underlying internet connection, but then RingCentral isn't able to tell us if the issue was on our local network, intermediary sources, or their main service.
Because RingCentral Meetings is just a white label of Zoom, RingCentral's support for the platform is more limited than for their other services.
Microsoft Teams is included with our Office 365 subscription and we have no intention of migrating off of Office 365 and Microsoft products. Since Microsoft Teams is included for free with our Office 365 subscription, and since we enjoy all the features, benefits, and functionality, there is no question that our team will continue to use the product
We are grandfathered into an unlimited toll-free minutes plan with RingCentral, so as long as we have them as a VoIP provider, we get Meetings free. If they ever start to charge us for using meetings as well, we'll drop that part in a second and switch to Skype for Business, which we currently have as well part of our Office 365 package.
The overall functionality of the product is incredible in that it provides a one-stop solution for organization and communication. The product is also very well integrated into Microsoft Outlook and other Office apps. Visually pleasing and very easy to use interface. New features are constantly being added to enhance the user experience.
Extremely intuitive and easy to use. Very minimal onboarding needed (ie training ) as most clients implement and use RingCentral Meetings in their environment within weeks of implementing it. This is the power of cloud computing where as applications are feature rich, flexible. Also, RingCentral can be branded with other technologies with their skins.
I think Microsoft Team is overall good application for communication, track Project work inter the teams and also intra teams. I have 7 out of 10 because it needs improvements in certain features like video sharing call, call drop, audio quality and connecting problems even after having good internet connection.
RingCentral is a great tool for everyone interested in making animations. The thing that appealed to us most about it is that it is very simple to use and works with much perfection. Like lip-synchronization goes so well with the character as soon as we add voice-over in it. Also, we can add characters and scenes without any hardship. We highly recommend this software.
We chose primarily because of the promised integration with the Microsoft Business Suite - which it mostly delivers on. That does give Teams an obvious advantage over competitors. IMHO Teams has a richer, more mature feature set, and the experience is more reliable and stable. Although like any of there there is room for imporvement.
We use RingCentral Meetings only because our consultants have standardized on it and it allows us to not have to manage temporary accounts for those consultants in our local meeting platform. It's not a bad platform, just not what our organization has standardized on. Our primary platform for meetings is Microsoft Teams, which integrates very well with our other business software.
User experience has been much better than the previous Skype for Business app. It has an easy-to-use interface with persistent chats. The search feature is very fast and useful.
MS Teams has mostly focused on Collaboration and team building features which are very useful for organisational communications. This in turn has a positive impact on the overall business outcome.
Scheduling meetings have never been so easy in the past. We can schedule meetings on the go without any hassles
Since Teams is accessible from multiple platforms like Laptop, Desktop, Mobile phones, etc it has been very convenient from a Mobility perspective.
Reduced time spent managing technical support issues (instead of customers describing problems, they can screen-share to help with the diagnosing process)
Whiteboarding has been exceptionally helpful to sketch new concepts and save them for future reference
Lack of capability to remote-control smart phones has limited it's screen sharing functionality for us, requiring the need for another software subscription to utilize that function.
