AB Tasty is a SAAS application created for e-marketers that enables them to optimize their website and conversion rate without technical knowledge. They can test several versions of their pages to identify which one has the biggest impact on their business objectives, e.g. click-through rate on a call to action button, add-to-cart rate, global conversion rate of their website.

Optimizely and AB Tasty are both A/B testing tools designed to help businesses to test the performance of different versions of web content. Both A/B testing tools are used by businesses of all sizes, though Optimizely is more popular with larger enterprises while A/B Tasty is used more often by smaller to mid-sized businesses.
Features
Optimizely and AB Tasty both include essential A/B testing features such as split testing and test scheduling, but they also each have standout features that set them apart from each other.
Optimizely includes funnel analysis features that allow businesses to see the steps users go through to reach a certain page or complete a certain event. This feature is useful when determining where users are dropping off in processes like registration. Optimizely also includes easy to use visual editor features that allow users to quickly create multiple versions of pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
AB Tasty includes built-in heatmaps that allow businesses to see what parts of pages users interact with most often and what areas aren’t being used. Heatmaps help businesses see what features are getting the most attention and if any important features are not being noticed by users. Additionally, AB Tasty includes surveys businesses can use to directly ask users questions about the page they are using. AB Tasty also includes a widget library developers can use to make simple changes to a page without writing code.
Limitations
Though Optimizely and AB Tasty both offer robust feature sets, they also have a few limitations that are important to consider.
Optimizely doesn’t have built-in Heatmaps, so it can be difficult to see what elements of a page users are interacting with most often. Optimizely does include an integration with Hotjar, but for businesses looking for a complete package, heatmaps aren’t available. Additionally, Optimizely doesn’t include surveys, so it can be more difficult to receive direct feedback from users compared to AB Tasty.
AB Tasty doesn’t include features for funnel analysis. As a result, when testing processes such as user registration, or product purchases it can be tricky to see where users drop off without additional analytics tools. AB Tasty’s visual editor is also not as robust as Optimizely’s which is a more complete development tool.
Pricing
Both AB Tasty and Optimizely do not list complete pricing information, though quotes are available from their sales team. Optimizely includes three pricing tiers for businesses, including a cheaper “essentials” package, and a more feature-complete “enterprise” package. AB Tasty is priced depending on the business in question.

Results and Analysis
Comparison of Results and Analysis features of Product A and Product B
A/B Tasty tool allows us do easy testing without burdening our limited developer resources all the time. Reports are simple enough to interpret. Support has been excellent and proactive, also the onboarding was successful. It is also an advantage that we have the possibility to drive all our traffic to the test versions rather than being limited to specific user amount per month. We can recommend A/B Tasty for testing purposes, as the platform keeps it’s promises, doesn’t require too much technical knowledge and the support is excellent.
I think it can serve the whole spectrum of experiences from people who are just getting used to web experimentation. It's really easy to pick up and use. If you're more experienced then it works well because it just gets out of the way and lets you really focus on the experimentation side of things. So yeah, strongly recommend. I think it is well suited both to small businesses and large enterprises as well. I think it's got a really low barrier to entry. It's very easy to integrate on your website and get results quickly. Likewise, if you are a big business, it's incrementally adoptable, so you can start out with one component of optimizing and you can build there and start to build in things like data CMS to augment experimentation as well. So it's got a really strong a pathway to grow your MarTech platform if you're a small company or a big company.
Easy setup - Simple script insertion into site header.
Intuitive interface - It took very little training for our team to understand how to start running A/B tests. The reporting is much more comprehensive, yet easily digestible than other platforms we have used or considered. Confidence scores, flexible KPI inclusions/tracking allow us to understand the results or non-result quickly and with clarity to make decisions on next steps.
Customer support - Our CSM and tech support are always helpful and proactive when a question or issue arise. Our CSM keeps us on track when an idea might have dropped off the map due to other priorities, and brings great ideas to the table. We enjoy our monthly touchbases with her when we get to see new functionalities, how other clients successfully used them, and brainstorm ways we can use them for our experience.
The Platform contains drag-and-drop editor options for creating variations, which ease the A/B tests process, as it does not require any coding or development resources.
Establishing it is so simple that even a non-technical person can do it perfectly.
It provides real-time results and analytics with robust dashboard access through which you can quickly analyze how different variations perform. With this, your team can easily make data-driven decisions Fastly.
Sometimes when you're preparing a test the editor "crashes" and you need to re open it. It's just a matter of having to go back to the main dashboard a few times during your preparation.
Maybe to have the option to have pre-build templates of pages, buttons and assets that we can use to test experiments.
The results view is dense and difficult to package easily for leadership, and when filtering by segment it's hard to read comparative outcomes without clearing or swapping filters
The organization of experiments and statuses is a cluttered list and the search is limited in use - would love to see that improve with time
There are so many other MarTech products out there, would love to see more dedicated integrations so we don't have to invest in something like Zapier or Tray to build hacky automations
AB Tasty's tool as well as the support team completely met my goals on A/B Testing. Editing a test is really easy and AB Tasty made the marketing team free to launch nearly any test. Reporting is also easy to set up and give us the information needed to keep improving transformation on landing pages and forms
Because it's an incredible and essential tool for my line of work as a conversion optimization specialist. Really couldn't do my job nearly as effectively without it. It's paid for itself many times over and I feel like I'm only beginning to unlock the tools potential.
The tool’s usability is excellent, with a smooth and intuitive interface. It is continuously updated with new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience. Setting up experiments and personalizations is straightforward, thanks to a well-structured process that even less experienced users can easily follow. There are sometimes small issues with the QA section which slows the QA process but it is so much better now compared to 2024.
Optimizely Web Experimentation's visual editor is handy for non-technical or quick iterative testing. When it comes to content changes it's as easy as going into wordpress, clicking around, and then seeing your changes live--what you see is what you get. The preview and approval process for sharing built experiments is also handy for sharing experiments across teams for QA purposes or otherwise.
I would rate Optimizely Web Experimentation's availability as a 10 out of 10. The software is reliable and does not experience any application errors or unplanned outages. Additionally, the customer service and technical support teams are always available to help with any issues or questions.
I would rate Optimizely Web Experimentation's performance as a 9 out of 10. Pages load quickly, reports are complete in a reasonable time frame, and the software does not slow down any other software or systems that it integrates with. Additionally, the customer service and technical support teams are always available to help with any issues or questions.
Support is good, but it would be better if it was quicker or if AB Tasty provided a quicker SLA. At times, you require stuff urgently but AB Tasty support isn't as quick as I personally like it to be.
They always are quick to respond, and are so friendly and helpful. They always answer the phone right away. And [they are] always willing to not only help you with your problem, but if you need ideas they have suggestions as well.
There is a vast amount of training available on their online platform, including their university area of which you can get certified for (and then share this with your connections on platforms such as Linkedin). There is also specific hand created training which can be provided by your customer success manager if that is requested by yourself.
The tool itself is not very difficult to use so training was not very useful in my opinion. It did not also account for success events more complex than a click (which my company being ecommerce is looking to examine more than a mere click).
The implementation through the tag management system took a bit of trial and error at first, mostly due to the asynchronous nature of the TMS. We had to manipulate the implementation to assure that the Optimizely code was written to the page at the right time to allow the experiment content load in the browser without showing any of the original content first. We also needed to make some adjustments to the TMS code to get the integration with Site Catalyst timed appropriately.
We selected AB Tasty mostly because we got a sense that their dev and customer service teams were going to go above and beyond to help us out. We were right! The cost was also a factor as they came in a small bit lower, but cost wasn't the only factor.
The ability to do A/B testing in Optimizely along with the associated statistical modelling and audience segmentation means it is a much better solution than using something like Google Analytics were a lot more effort is required to identify and isolate the specific data you need to confidently make changes
It's incredibly flexible and adapts well to organizations of all sizes, whether you’re running a single site or managing multiple departments and platforms. The ability to deploy experiments seamlessly across different environments is a huge plus, especially for growing businesses. While it’s highly scalable, the last point would depend on the right team leveraging its full potential.
This past year we improved our new visitor conversion rates by 73% with very little increases in our ad spend. We've been able to test quickly and infer how those experiments impacted lead generation. Experimentation is all about continually learning and testing.
