Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the software for planning production. We currently have a plastic injection molding facility in California. We use this software to also communicate cross-functionally and make decisions and priorities on the production planning and inventory control. Supply chain management module is also used extensively for supply planning high-risk suppliers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Epicor Kinetic for purchasing, receiving, shipping and invoicing. The problem we used to have before Epicor Kinetic is having to use two different softwares to complete everything Epicor Kinetic can do. The scope of our use case helps clarify communication to ensure there's understanding of what Epicor Kinetic aims to accomplish by building what the business needs.

being able to obsolete an MPN for a part and having it be grayed out

Pros

Handling all types of orders - jobs, purchases, and customer orders.
MRP scheduling is very good and easily modified by part or group.
Easily getting other info about a key field by right-clicking and traveling to a new form.

Cons

RMA and DMR. Although it can handle these, the function seems like an afterthought. It isn't as smooth as the rest of Epicor.
Reporting is ok but it runs slowly. We are still using Crystal.
Barcoding in general but mostly the warehouse management part.

Return on Investment

Epicor has allowed us to easily develop new products and release them to our customer quickly.
Because the data in Epicor is open to 3rd party apps It's allowed us to improve process even farther.
My favorite tool is DMT. It has saved us some much time because we can modify data so quickly and efficiently. Also when we acquired new companies it allowed is to import the data in hours.
Because of the flexibility of the grid format on forms IT doesn't have to create one off reports. Also, Users can to small batch imports releaving IT workload.
