We use it for invoice management. All of our invoices are processed via SAP Ariba. It is a great system, easy to use and really quick to deliver the end product. I wouldn't say we have any business problems at the moment we are happy with our users case, if anything we just need to utilize its capabilities more.
Pros
Invoice management, keeping all suppliers engaged
Keeps all data in the same location, easy to track
Accountability
Cons
I wouldn´t say there is much more it can do, the system is great, the biggest challenge is users knowing how it works
Likelihood to Recommend
Everything is automated, quick to use, keeps everyone informed. If I raise a purchase, it can automatically inform the purchaser when they need to sign, and then lets me know when they have signed at their end.
We use for vendor onboarding allowing the vendor to get control of their data and updates and indirect purchasing. We leverage catalog buy and spend analysis. The global team is responsible for setting up catalogs and contract and each business can create their own requisitions fitting the policy to guarantee compliance and drive cost reduction on our global purchasing porcess.
Pros

We use SAP Ariba for supplier registration, onboarding, RFQs, Workflow , Logistics, Invoicing and Analytics. The business problems the product addresses is that it brings the buyers and suppliers on one platform, allows the suppliers to fill in all their details and makes it easy for the buyer to send for quotations and choose the supplier and allows the buyer and supplier to track the PO, the logistics and raise the invoice in one platform enabling flexibility and ease of use.
Pros
Supplier onboarding
ASN
Invoicing
Cons
More customisation
When new features are introduced , adding them to the existing customers
a clearer licencing
Likelihood to Recommend
SAP Ariba is very well suited for plug an play scenarios. From Supplier Registation to onbording to POs it has a smooth flow. Less appropriate when there are customizations involved. A customer will look to add more customisations to his landscapes, ask for more features and all this needs to enabled
In-direct material purchases. Direct materials are procured thru S4. Major assumptions regarding vendor participation in the Ariba network are hinderances for small firms. More attention is needed to enhance/entice small and local vendors that support manufacturing facilities
Pros
ensures the correct vendor is paid
processing non Purchase Order transactions
Cons
PO exception processing
Freight and Tariffs included on Purchase Orders
Likelihood to Recommend
+ Spend approval limitations for Project IDs
- Auto receipt of PO Lines below deminimus limits - Ability to flip Units and Quantity (invoicing for services) - Resolution of exceptions errors

Project Manager in Manufacturing (5001-10,000 employees)
SAP Ariba streamlines procurement by automating vendor management, sourcing, and vendor agreement creation. Its useful for vendor registration and qualification process. We could easily tracks vendor life-cycle and performance by software. new Supplier is only registered after vendor qualification is completed. SAP Ariba enhances procurement efficiency, reduces errors, and fosters strategic relationships with suppliers. Its is used in mutiple department in our company like for Raw material, Packing material, consumable material procurement for manufacturing and quality control.
Pros
Process of material procurement is automated which save time as compare to manual process.
Tracking supplier acceptance and rejection history throughout the entire lifecycle is valuable for audits, compliance checks, and investigative purposes.
Integration with SAP S/4 HANA significantly reduces workload.
Cons
Integration with non-SAP systems is complex and resource-intensive.
The overall cost of SAP Ariba, including licensing, implementation, and supplier network fees, is relatively high.
Approval work flow for vendor is complex need to customised as per organisation requirement.
Likelihood to Recommend
I would rate SAP Ariba 7 out of 10 due to its strong sourcing, vendor agreement management, and vendor collaboration tools, along with seamless integration with SAP S/4 HANA. However, the high cost of ownership, including licensing and supplier fees, significantly impacts its overall value, especially for smaller organisations which makes it difficult to afford.

We are using it for non merch procurement with CIG, it is very useful for invoice replication which streamlined and in sync both the systems SAP and SAP Ariba. If it can handle merch process as well that would be great to have functionality. It is really useful application and can be recommended to other customers.
