Good Internal Communication Tool

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Pigeon Messengr as our primary internal messaging tool. Prior to Pigeon Messengr, we had used mostly used email and phone calls, which were an absolute pain. Anyways, Pigeon Messengr has replaced these tools as a central portal that allows me to communicate both with my reports and my leadership in one convenient place, without the pain of having to go click back and forth between inboxes and email chains or having to scroll through email chains with everyone's eight-line signatures to finally find a document. Now it is all in one place.

Pros

  • Search options. It isn't quite Google, but it is significantly easier for me to find specific messages and shared documents in the threads than it was when we were using email.
  • Ad-hoc meetings. The Huddle feature is really great for those moments when you think "This would be so much easier said than written" but also don't want to walking across the office building and up and down stairs just to have a five minute chat.
  • Mobile App: It's great for those days where I have a doctor's appointment to be in the loop available for the team. Keeping track of emails on my phone was a pain.

Cons

  • File types. It works fine with your standard files (Word, Excel, CSV, etc.) but some of the reports put out by our software won't load, so it's back to email.
  • Small thing, but the new message notification often will not go away.

Most Important Features

  • 1 on 1 and group communication
  • File transfer
  • Ad-hoc meetings

Return on Investment

  • Significant positive impact. While I can't provide company wide numbers (nor am I aware if we even track it specifically), I know that I personally probably save somewhere between 2-5 hours on any given week from not having to track down files and messages in email chains.
  • Also security. Pigeon Messengr, as a purely internal messaging tool, reduces mishaps like employees cc'ing external clients on emails they shouldn't have access to.

Pigeon Messengr has proven to be a very useful tool for staying in touch and collaborating with others, especially during the pandemic.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Pigeon Messengr was first only used by our IT department but is now used across the whole company after covid-19 started. Many of our jobs including mine went remote. By using the product, I am able to talk to whoever I need to with just a click. No more waiting around to see if someone read your email. The Outlook integration allows you to keep track of everything that happens throughout your day. Using instant messaging to communicate with your team is efficient and time-saving.

Great solution for a large and/or remote company!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PM for all our internal communication. It's used for product updates, small talk, questions, etc. Everyone in the company has this installed on their computer. Since we're such a large company, it's imperative that we all have easy access to talk to one another, PM solves this issue for us.

Pros

  • allows us to create multiple channels
  • let's us add gifs to conversations to keep things light

Cons

  • I wish PM didn't time out all the time

Most Important Features

  • Ability to add multiple channels

Return on Investment

  • We've all been able to stay more connected

Must-Have in a WFH World

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work remotely, so I rely on Pigeon pretty heavily to keep in touch with my team. We have a channel for the whole department to share info and ask questions, and we can message each other individually or create separate chats of select people to discuss specific things. We use it every shift to let each other know who's active/working and when we are signing off.

Pros

  • Notifications - I can minimize the window while I'm working and new messages will pop up on my screen so I don't have to remember to check the channel.
  • Statuses - we always put up a status of what we're working on, I like how you can hover over user names and it will show you their statuses.
  • Overall look - I don't know if my company chose the color scheme but it's really sharp. Also love that I can use Dark Mode, easier on my eyes for sure!

Cons

  • Would like a "nudge" feature when people don't answer. I think it's easy to overlook new messages if they're in an older thread.
  • That's all I can think of. Pigeon is great!

Most Important Features

  • Ability to create multiple channels for different topics or projects.
  • Active/away indicator to easily see who is around.
  • Reliable notifications so nothing gets missed.

Return on Investment

  • I don't have any insight regarding the cost or ROI, but it has been really helpful and I feel communication among the team has been pretty painless!

Great Communication Platform

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Pigeon Messengr in my organization to stay in contact with co-workers, remain up to date on important information, and communicate with the management team. This platform is also essential because my job is WFH, so it is utilized like a time clock for notifying everyone when I am working. Pigeon Messengr helps my organization be efficient while enjoying our work.

Pros

  • Silent but visible alerts when notifications come through.
  • Tagging specific people to alert them.
  • The search function is fantastic.

Cons

  • Sometimes a message will get broken up and I am unable to view it all at once.
  • It would be nice if it had a way to select a message as being unread. I like to leave messages unread as reminders but sometimes need to just read them first.
  • It won't allow me to upload a picture because it has to be of a very small size. Would be more personal if I could use a picture on my profile.

Most Important Features

  • Tagging feature - alerts an individual (useful when a reply is necessary)
  • Search feature - helpful for finding information faster
  • Direct message feature - good for personal communication and not clogging up the main feed

Return on Investment

  • Knowledge of the numbers is above my pay grade, but I think ROI is positive.
  • Super helpful for staying in communication with my team.
  • All of the information shared is important for being productive.
