CalendlyZoom Workplace
Considered Both Products
Calendly
Chose Calendly
I have not used any other products other than Calendly. Calendly was actually chosen by the broker-dealer company my boss works for so we did not have an option to shop and explore other products that work similar to Calendly.
Chose Calendly
Calendly is a better option because it integrates with both our work calendars and our interview screening program, Zoom. The company seems to put a lot of time and effort making sure that it is useful and seamless across multiple platforms. We have never hand any major issue …
Chose Calendly
Calendly worked from the very start. The others all had some startup woes so I stopped using them and waited for something better to come along. Once I saw Calendly in action, I knew right away this would be a useful scheduling tool for me to be using in my daily life for both …
Chose Calendly
I was using Google Calendar before this to track my meetings but this one has several advantages over that. It syncs better with Outlook. It is easier to use. And you can automate a large part of your meeting set up. I don't know if any other software can do all of that.
Chose Calendly
Assistant.to is a great tool, but Calendly's UI is much simpler and more powerful. With Assistant.to, you only have the ability to embed availability into an email, but with Calendly you actually have your own link to send people. They also have a Chrome extension and more …
Chose Calendly
While Cirrus Insight provides similar features and functionality as Calendly, we're utilizing it for a number of other important needs as well, and Cirrus' scheduling feature is not as advanced as Calendly's for teams and does not accommodate as well for detailed/rigorous …
Chose Calendly
I would say Calendly has the best interface and usability of these tools, however Interview Schedule is (predictably) better at scheduling full interview panels and more complex scheduling needs. YouCanBook.Me is good for coordinating a meeting between two individuals from …
Zoom Workplace
Chose Zoom Workplace
We used Dialpad and Teams previously and both were fine. When we were looking at scheduling software, we looked at Calendly. Ultimately, it was cheaper to use Zoom Workplace for phone, video and scheduling and we really liked our Zoom Workplace support team. Calendly and Zoom …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is less resource-intensive compared to Microsoft Teams. Slack appears very basic and does not have the app offerings that Zoom boasts. I've also encountered a significant amount of audio issues when using Slack to conduct meetings. Zoom has found its niche and …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is equal in parity to all of the tools mentioned above at a bare minimum, and for some of them it goes above and beyond - for video conferencing, Zoom is well past Meet and Teams. It's less obtrusive than Teams on a PC, and it doesn't strain older hardware like Meet does.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Centralization and ease of use company wide. With many employees, having everything in one spot it crucial.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace just has a multitude of options for meetings and is a better fit for what we as a team need.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Compared to its competitors, Zoom is more cost-effective, as well as simpler to install and use. It's also more reliable, as Google Meet's call quality has been poor for meetings larger than one-on-one. Even Microsoft Teams has a Zoom plug-in for teams to use. I chose Zoom, so …
Chose Zoom Workplace
I don't like social media for recording pieces of training because they don't have a good share feature. Zoom is superior in the ways you can share your screen, video, and your phone. Plus being able to have filters and backgrounds makes things look more professional. I would …
Chose Zoom Workplace
I have used quite a range of these tools over time. Some work pretty well if all parties are using a laptop with high bandwidth. However, Zoom works extremely well when people are on different devices / media (like some on phone, some on computer). Others services either can't …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Skype is just very unreliable in my opinion. The used to have a lot of quality problems on the calls. UberConference we liked a lot their simple UX approach, the web-hosted structure, and the beautiful UI, but we had multiple call-quality issues as well. We don't have those …
Chose Zoom Workplace
I find the reliability is better, with quality sound and video. I also loved the built in capacity to record meetings.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is superior in my opinion. It is the best for training clients and allows for annotation. Teams does not allow you to annotate and that makes it VERY hard to direct someone where to go on a screen.

It's well suited for music students' lessons. It's well suited for online coaching, primarily through places like Zoom and more. It helps simplify things for your clients, lets you program your schedule, and allows it all to go automatically! If you are working with a senior population, it may be a little tricky for them to sign up and then really hard for them to cancel lessons. There isn't a way to go to the site and cancel. You have to pull up the confirmed email and cancel from there, but people can lose emails.

* Onboarding new employees - adaptation is quick and easy for new employees - for phone and meeting use. * Administration is quick and easy as well as finding answers to the 'what ifs' * Delegation for scheduling and creating scheduler links - what an awesome process - delegation allows for ease of on-boarding new employees - pre-emptively setting up their meetings and orientations in advance of start date *AI summary - our development teams uses them for ALL meetings creating a great history and follow up process for the entire team

Pros
  • Sales. Easy for people to book so less back and forth.
  • Managed access. Easy for me to offer people the "right kind" of slot - I have like 5 hidden event-types I share only with certain people so they can access different availability.
  • Collaborative events! Some of us frequently meet in pairs or groups, e.g., one of our regional leaders and I have a shared link we can send out to people to find a time that works for all of us. LOVE this.

  • It's a great way to connect around the world with minimal bandwidth consumption.
  • Meeting our peers and exchanging ideas is made possible through the use of high-quality video and audio calls.
  • Exceptional audio and video quality; we are recording meetings and transferring them to other storage.
  • Compared to other apps, it has more features and allows for efficient file sharing within the chatbox.

Cons
  • If you have more than one company, you cannot use one account. This is the most difficult hurdle to me but still one I am willing to jump over considering all the benefits of Calendly.
  • Adding custom color ability on event types. Example: One of my companies doesn't use any of the color choices. I would like to be able to color code those to my brand.
  • Brand/Asset kit would be a wonderful addition. In profile settings, have a place to upload brand logo, assets, and brand color codes.

  • You need an app to make the calls and meetings, but it would be perfect if it had a web-based option.
  • Sometimes when internet speed drops, the audio quality also drops; I would understand the video quality dropping, but the audio doesn't consume much bandwidth, so it would be nice to have a consistent audio even on low internet speeds.

For all reasons like workflows, UI, and the way Calendly keeps all of us engaged through the Collective forum. It's indeed undeniable that no other product covers all business needs like Calendly does. On the other side, this has also reduced the workload by enabling us to focus more on other tasks for the day

Because every other conference tool is expensive, bloated, or fails to make it easy to just have a call with someone.

Usability
Calendly is extremely easy to use for selecting times and days for meetings. From my end, it's very easy to indicate the days and times that I am available for meetings. I have used other scheduling products, but Calendly has the smoothest way of operating. I highly recommend it for scheduling meetings

Zoom is made for the non tech office. It has features that can be made to do what you need to run things on a day to day basis. Immediately we we able to get meetings going with remote employees. The ability to be able to add smartphone connected people was a big plus. Zoom met our needs at the time.

There have been less than a handful of outages during our two years with Zoom, and whenever there was one, an email informing us of the outage went out immediately, and they had the issue resolved shortly thereafter.

Zoom has among the best performance of any video conference platform, as I've mentioned several times. Besides that, their Chat platform works great, and their back end always runs smooth. It's unfortunate that reporting can now only be done by one month at a time, but nonetheless, it only takes a second to run any kind of Zoom report, whether it's an attendee report, Poll results, a user report, a list of meetings from the past month, etc.

Support Rating
There is a lot of support for Calendly. Whenever I have had issues navigating through it, especially as a new user, I found multiple support on the web addressing my questions or concerns. There is a lot of in app informative notes accessible to users to navigate through Calendly when needed.

Because I got a response right away, and was assigned one specific individual to work with me from the beginning to the resolution. I had an actual email address and direct contact with this person without having to start over and over every time I contacted Zoom - this singular individual remained attentive and was well informed on the subject matter and quite able to resolve my needs.

If you receive any pushback from higher ups, point to any of the various positive reviews like this one. Or show Zoom's excellent Gartner report, or articles describing Zoom's partnership with Sequoia capital. It's not difficult to show how Zoom is a trustworthy industry leader with best-in-class technology.

Alternatives Considered
Everything I've said previously. It takes me entirely out of the loop of coordinating people's schedules, sending invites, booking time, ensuring they get a Zoom invite, etc. It does everything while I do next to nothing, which is as it should be. As a team of one, my time should be spent doing what I do best and getting paid to do: coaching, teaching, consulting, speaking, writing, and creating training content and workshops.

Zoom Workplace is typically on the more expensive end against other options, but it's the industry leader for a reason. It has the most brand credibility by far, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. There are limitations when it comes to technical performance, customization and video/audio quality. I prefer Slack myself for communication apps, but Zoom Workplace is a good alternative.

Scalability
No answers on this topic
Because the Basic licenses are completely free, and because it's very easy to configure and install Zoom, and because anyone can join Zoom from a link without needing an account, scaling is a Breeze. There are absolutely no roadblocks. My company keeps adding more Zoom Pro license every week since it's so in demand. We were able to convert users from several different platforms onto Zoom with no trouble at all.

Return on Investment
  • Over 300% as of last year. We had done a case study which was phenomenal because even I didn't know the numbers were that huge until we finally put pen to paper.
  • Time!! I'm in the money business and you know Time is Money if you're in the same industry.
  • Affordability. It doesn't break the bank for anyone - having an affordable product along with it being user friendly is a no brainer.

  • We have not lost much productivity in our teamwork during the pandemic because of the ability to have Zoom video calls and keep everyone in touch. This is definitely a positive.
  • We are able to have more people participate in coaching sessions (described earlier) because we don't have room space limitations. This is a big positive.
  • Being able to start a meeting instantly is great when we are doing support and/or training with a client over the phone and need to be able to share a visible
